Blown away by detuned saw unison, filter and compressor!!!
I have been playing with software instruments for well over a decade. But I was just blown away by the quality of just a detuned saw in Vital. If I just take a saw set the detune to 5 voices it's insane. That plus just the standard filter and compressor and I get crazy sounds, heavy and ready for some industrial pumping.
I have Serum 2, it has nice detuned saw's but it doesn't sound as good, not as organic as Vital. No matter what unison mode I tried, no matter the detuning.
I tried Dune 3 just now which I admit does have a nice filter but it still couldn't cut like Vital's filter. I tried its gausion unison which was good, but still not as fat as Vitals.
Just tried Pigments which gets close but you can hear the loop in the unison a little more. Let me specify I am playing at D1. Higher notes you get very similar sounds. I will say Pigments is the closest so far, but still sounds more thin. If I heard the two sounds without knowing what generating them I would think Pigments sounds more like a virtual instrument and Vital sounds more like some crazy hardware synth.
Vital definitely does not have all the bells & whistle's and features of some of the other soft synths out there but to me personally the core heart of a synth is the quality of its oscillators and filters and Vital (for the sounds I like) is crushing through it!!!
Is there something I am missing here? Did I not do a fair comparison of the other synths out there because I failed to replicate in them things that Vital is doing (especially with the compressor settings)? Or is Vital seriously THAT good?
Please help me recreate this setting for the synth
Wrote this song a while back and lost the settings for the synth. Please help me recreate the synth sound. Thank you kindly. Ignore the drums :P Song Link
How can I synthesize a cowbell-ish sound?
I'm like the cowbell-ish distorted lead often used in Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack (E.g., `Just Another Weapon - P.T. Adamczyk`, closer to the end), but all my attempts to actually synthesize it failed (I blame myself being a newbie in sound synthesis)... Could you, please, help?
quite a few updates recently.
Somebody knows what is changed?
i'm kind of making my own problems but i like this really reverby huge sounding bass i have but when the reverb crosses into the next note it causes some weird phase stuff in like two parts- i cant really automate the reverb to not to do that for the effect, but is there anyway to make it so where it just doesn't overlap or do i have to high pass the reverb??
