Market & Blake Street Protected Bikelanes should both be Left-running with no breaks.
Proposing that DOTI make Blake & Market Street Protected Bikelanes with both Left-running without breaks or interruptions.
One issue is at 16th just after STK where the lane vanishes into a bus stop. This will eliminate that conflict.
This will also put them both on the inside from one another making it easier to ride the correct direction in the bike lane & then safely loop back a block to your destination. We should do the same with 14th St to mirror 15th Street while also eliminating the need to cross traffic twice to loop back onto Market from Blake Street.
Maybe we can even get portions or all as raised cycle tracks installed by developers on the blocks missing sidewalks & curbs.
Plus, I think a lot of riders will be turning left to access Brighton Boulevard Cycle Track, or 20th & Park Ave to access the South Platte River Trail. Just makes sense to limit the need to cross busy traffic.
We just need the Downtown Denver Partnership & our Councilmembers to ask that it happen.
