I need to know if I'm being too harsh here. Basically I've commissioned someone for a video. I ordered the commission on March 12th and the video editor said they take 2-3 weeks, so I set the due date as April 2nd. But the automatic due date was set to April 13th, which is ok but not ideal since it delays the release longer.

Right after ordering (March 12th), I sent some messages clarfying things. They didn't get seen. Then on March 18th and again on March 21st I basically sent a message going "hello? eveything ok?". On March 22nd they replied saying sorry and that everything should be done in time for April 2nd.

Then on April 1st, I get a message saying there were issues with rendering. In their words "it'll take 2-3 days or at most until the video deadline (April 13th)".

So note that at this point I haven't seen any parts of the video at all. I'm completely in the dark about what it looks like. They haven't asked for my approval of things or even described any of it.

So I reply going "That's ok! Could I see the bugged version just to get a sense of what it looks like?". They see it and don't reply.

On April 3rd, I send a message asking for another update, basically saying "can you confirm it'll be done in 2-3 days (today or tomorrow at this point) because up until the video deadline is 10 days so there's a big difference there. I also have 0 idea what the video looks like which is worrying me. I'd really appreciate another update!".

Its been a day but once again seen but no reply... Am I being too pushy here? I just feel like its not that hard to give a simple reply about the statis of the video thats already gone past the agreed due date... I specifically chose this person because they said it takes 2-3 weeks and it's more than 3 weeks now. Its not the end of the world if it gets delivered on the 13th but if I need revisions will they get done quickly or will that take another week?

Idk, what do you guys think? I've been pretty forgiving and apologetic when I ask for a reply so far, but I'm starting to get annoyed by the lack of communication.

I'm thinking of commissioning an artist to help design a char with elements from 2+ chars in mind.
I'm looking for someone who has experience designing cohesive costumes and has a good grasp of anatomy/body proportions.
I attached an image containing two art styles I'm looking for (one for character design (bottom half) and the other one for final rendering (top half))
Budget is +100usd and open to further discussion if I find someone with a portfolio that matches art style.
