





















































This place was originally a bomb shelter built during the Cold War to protect against potential air raids by the Soviet Union or the United States. Located in the heart of Chengdu, I heard it has five underground levels.
Later in the 1990s, it was transformed into an underground shopping mall, and some of the stores are still in operation today.
Now almost 90% of it has been abandoned, making it a great place for urban exploration.

Yesterday I saw a post about a Chengdu intersection that I found quite interesting, which reminded me of a post I had previously shared on an infrastructure subreddit. Many Americans insist that such wide roads are the root cause of urban problems, which really puzzles me. There’s no sign of any infrastructure decay in this picture, but I think the topic is fascinating.
