Eller MS-MIS GA Opportunities

Hi, y'all. I got my acceptance letter for Eller's MS-MIS program and am very excited. I'm just trying to navigate the graduate assistantship situation as an international student.

  1. I understand assistantships come with tuition remission. My big question: Do you get the stipend paid to you in addition to the remission, or is the “stipend” basically just the tuition coverage described differently(as that is a significant amount)?
  2. Also, for those who’ve done it: How realistic is a ~20 hrs/week (0.5 FTE) assistantship with the MS-MIS workload, and how common is it for incoming MS-MIS students to land one in their first semester?

Would love firsthand info from anyone currently on a Graduate TA/RA role and any fine print I missed (other than program fees and health insurance). Thanks!

What's the best thing about Tucson that you didn't appreciate until you'd been at UofA for a while?

What's a gameday tradition at UofA that hits different when you're actually in the student section?

Does anyone know why there’s a helicopter flying around the university almost every night?
