When to determine damage

When to determine damage

So I’m playing as Beowulf in unmatched adventures and as the game was ending this was the final played hand, I think I get the win here because my immediately effect deals the damage and sets mothman to zero instantly ending the encounter but does moth man still do his damage causing us to both be dead ending in a tie? How does this play out

Card Art tier list

Hey everyone. There is no shortage of fighter tier lists for all sorts of formats. However I don’t think I’ve seen one based on card art. It’s a bit niche I know but I’m interested in what the community thinks would be top and bottom tier.

Need help on my custom deck (personal use)

I've tested this deck and it's awfully weak against ranged character.

And yes there are no "Any" card to push the "maintain your sidekick properly" gimmick. So when I'm running out of SSRB, I'm basically powerless. So I think I need to change it

note on "Benelli M4 Destruction"

during combat: if you're adjacent to the opposing fighter. this card value is 5 instead

Finally got my hands on Stars and Stripes and wanted to ask how to use Rosie better.

I’ve had a lot of fun using pretty much everyone from Stars and Stripes, however my favorite at the moment is Rosie. I’ve done a few rounds with her and as fun as she is, I have struggled. Any advice?

Offensive Feint

Hey quick question about the effect of a feint if played offensivelly. Here I play as Achilles, Patrocles is dead so the feint is 4, my friend plays as Annie Chrismas and defend with Mississippi Queen which has for effect « the damage taken this turn can’t reduce Annie’s life below 1 ». We were wondering since you first resolve the defence effect and then the attack effect, can the feint cancel the effect even if it has been resolved first.

I really hope you guys understood my poor english and give me an answer.
Thanks

Mulligan Mondays: Nikola Tesla (Tips and Strategies)

One aspect of Unmatched strategy involves mulligans - shuffling your starting hand into your deck and drawing five new cards. While there is the general idea of opting for a mulligan if your starting hand does not have any defenses especially if you're going second, different heroes have different mulligan targets. Let's talk about when and what to mulligan for when playing as Nikola Tesla.

Recently, I've been enjoying playing as Nikola Tesla, but I've never really thought about what to look for in my opening hand. As long as I've got a good mix of versatile cards, I'm good. Maybe I'm wrong and I should actually be looking to get an early advantage? Looking over Tesla's cards, X-Ray Radiation looks like a good card to have early while my opponent still has a lot of cards in his/her deck. Three early top deck discards can potentially get rid of key cards and deal good damage. Other cards that look like good mulligan targets are: Lightning Storm for getting rid of 1 HP sidekicks early, Repulsion Blast to escape from early pins plus a random discard, and Polyphase Coils for canceling.

What should we be mulliganing for when playing as Nikola Tesla? Do you have more specific mulligan strategies for him? Let's talk about it!

Spring of Myths Tier List (11 May)

For those who may be interested in a Spring of Myths tournament fighter tier list.

Interested in generating curated tier lists yourself: https://www.reddit.com/r/Unmatched/comments/1t2g23d/unmatched_matchup_tool_v101_oneclick_database/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

This tier list is powered by the Bradley-Terry (BT) Probability Model, a statistical engine designed to solve for "Latent Strength" within complex networks. The BT model is the foundational math used for World Chess Rankings (Elo), professional sports power-ratings (like NFL and European Football), consumer preference modeling, and more.

This BT engine determines the set of individual fighter strengths that most logically explains all recorded matches in Tabletopleague.com database. Every win is weighted; defeating an S-Tier opponent like Medusa increases a fighter’s rating more than defeating a low-ranked one like Jekyll & Hyde. The model bridges "matchup gaps", inferring relative strength by tracing performance through common opponents across the entire network.

In the tool (link above):

Curating the Meta (Removing Fighters): You can refine the fighter pool to focus on a specific group of fighters, e.g. top-tier only or a limited roster for tournaments. To mark fighters for removal, single-click a fighter's name in the tier list or click-and-drag to highlight a group of fighters. Once you hit the Remove button, the BT engine excludes those fighters and recalculates the tier list based on the remaining fighters.

What heroes should I choose?

Hello everyone!

Our local game store is having an unmatched tournament tonight and me and my boyfriend decided to participate. We have to take with us 3 heroes each and one map. The opponent will choose one hero for me to ban and I will do the same to them, and then we choose the hero we will play from the other 2. It is going to be 1v1.

My question to you is what heroes should I take? I was thinking of Pandora, She Hulk, and Yennenga but my boyfriend chose Yennenga first. He is going with Sherlock, Yennenga and Bigfoot. Which other hero do you thing would be good to take?

This is our second time in a tournament like this and the last time I had Yennenga, Alice and Beowulf and I didn't like them that much. I won only one game out of 4 with Beowulf. I don't want to take a hero that their ability is to draw cards because I believe I will draw a lot of cards and lose because I run out of the deck.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the heroes or the deck? Maybe a tip to play good?

Thank you all in advance!

Edit to add our sets. We have:
Battle of the legends 1, 2 and 3
Cobble and fog
The 2 witcher
The 2 Jurassic park
Tales to amaze
Brains and Brawn Marvel
Slings and arrows
Suns origin
Houdini vs Genie
Little Red vs Beowulf
Robin Hood vs Bigfoot

Quick question about Moon Knight

Moon Knight is my main in Unmatched, but me and my friends have always been unsure on one rule.

On the card for Moon Knight's Khonsu identity, it says to add +2 value to your attack cards. I'm just wondering if this applies to all your attacks, or if it's specific and doesn't apply to versatile cards. Thank you!

Recommendations for next set

I've been playing Unmatched for a short time, and I was introduced to it by some friends at a summer camp. This year, I'll be going back to see them again, and I wanted to pick up a new set to bring.

Currently I have Redemption Row and Battle of Legends 2. My main is Moon Knight, I love the Identity cycle as a gimmick that you use to strategize. I also like Yennenga for her good mobility and capability to punish. When I've borrowed characters, I enjoy Sinbad. Even though he's subpar, the Voyage mechanic is a lot of fun for me.

I'm primarily interested in Sun's Origin and Bruce Lee vs. Muhammad Ali for their characters, and also because most of my friends don't have these sets. Could I get a second opinion on my decision? I'm open to any suggestions.

I cant see why, with a few tweaks to the cards and artwork they couldn’t rerelease these?

Obv, Ingen and settler are IP. But the dino’s aren’t.

Completely new player, I have some questions and is bloody mary ok for beginners?

So I like miniature skirmish games and my LGS plays a lot of Unmatched so I am thinking of starting out and I really like bloody mary(to be honest visually, idk how she plays) and I wanted to ask about her Playstyle and if she is ok for someone new . Other then that I wanted to ask if characters can play in any map and against any other characters or if each box is kinda like a different game on its own

Gulliver's Travels sounds like a good IP for a new Unmatch set.

It is funny that the only big character is TRex. And the only small characters are the small Squirrels. I think 2026 is the time for more.

Have one set called Gulliver's Travels with both the tiny people and the giants sound like a great idea.

First hero: Gulliver (melee) - hit and run with a boat mechanic.

Second hero: Lilliputian royals (main, look like a castle) and the Lilliputians (8).

Third hero: Glumdalclitch: A little girl giant.
