Stuck in a rut. Need to buy a laptop by this week. Please help me!

Hello all. I have been looking up laptops for nearly a couple of months to buy but I'm totally confused reading reviews.

My work: research (lots of typing, lots of tabs), content creation in future (educational reels), exploring AI to make above tasks easier

Specs: 32gb ram, 1tb ssd, 13-14 inch screen, intel series 2 (confused between V vs H), I'm not sure if I need a dedicated GPU, less than 1.5kg (I commute a lot)

Budget: upto 1.5Lakh INR

I almost landed on the lenovo yoga pro 7i gen 10 aura edition or the yoga slim aura edition but I read about hinge issues, motherboard and driver issue and questionable service etc and backed out.. thinkpad is too expensive for these Specs.

Should I bite the bullet and get a lenovo or should I look at asus or some other brand?

I really need help in deciding.

Summer Bonanza 2026 Lenovo Sales (May 2026) + new 7% Exclusive Coupon for Customized laptops

The 2026 Summer Bonanza Sales are here now (Valid from 8rd May 2026 - TBD), Compared to the previous EOFY sale, the prices have considerably reduced for Legion laptops. However, there is a price hike soon banner on the website, so it is likely that the prices might go back up for the particular models that have the tag.

Here are the current updated pricing as of 8th May 2026, coupons, and cashbacks that are currently applicable.

  • A new 7% exclusive coupon has been added, apply UNBOX7CTO for a flat 7% off on any CTO laptops. Currently it appears to be working for most customized laptops that I have tried except Yoga Pro.
  • The Credit card cashback has been increased to up to 15k for legions and LOQ cashback is now 10% up to Rs 10,000 from the previous 5% up to Rs 5,000. (Within 20 days of delivery, previously this used to be within 30 days of delivery on paper)
  • The 3 Year warranty and ADP have seen a slight price decrease from Rs 4,499 to Rs 3,499.
  • The No Cost EMI payment option is now supported for 9 and 12 months as well. Previously this used to be 3/6 months.

Note: It would support me in maintaining the community, and the website a lot, if you could use the affiliate link, even though the affiliate link cashback program has now ended. It costs you nothing but helps me keep developing better search engines and produce more content. Note that I am still busy with the upcoming beta website launch which is still undergoing refinement so that I can ensure better accuracy. Hence, I might not be able to get back to every DM. Please remain patient and feel free to remind me in the same DMs in case I have not replied.

All of the above links in the table are affiliate links to the respective laptops. For customized laptops, the affiliate links do not change based on the configuration. While affiliate link cashbacks are no longer offered, you can still use them and follow the steps as mentioned here to support Unbox Paradigm in a small way.

DM me if the laptop you are looking for is not in this table and if it is not available at https://gaming.unboxparadigm.com (for high end and gaming laptops) or https://laptops.unboxparadigm.com (for thin and light laptops)

If you are looking for a different laptop and want me to add to this list, comment the laptop name below. I will add a configuration or two to the table. But the math is pretty simple, so you can probably just calculate it anyway.

- For Credit Card cashback details, refer here - https://www.lenovo.com/in/en/lenovo-offer-details/

As usual, the credit card cashback is applicable on ANY credit card so long as the payment is non-EMI (aka Full payment).

- You can get your EMI purchases converted to No Cost EMI by opting for 3, 6, 9 or 12 Months EMI plan. The interest component would get refunded to your credit card making it effectively No Cost. For more details on this, refer https://www.lenovo.com/in/en/lenovo-offer-details/

An additional 5% student discount may be applicable if you are a student or an educator using SheerID verification discount in the cart. If it does not work for you, there is nothing I can do about that, try contacting Lenovo support.

Aah shit here we go again need laptop suggestion 1lakh to 1.6lakh

I am looking to buy a laptop in the ₹1 lakh to ₹1.6 lakh range and needed some suggestions my main use cases will be

Gaming video editing and since will be using it for my btech in college so Coding general multitasking and long-term daily use

Should I buy from online or offline and where can I get prices

I want something that gives a good balance of performance, thermals, build quality, display, battery (decent enough cant expect anything great from a gaming laptop so 😓), and long-term reliability.

Which brands should I seriously consider in this range?

Lenovo, ASUS, HP, Acer, MSI, Dell

which brand is best overall when considering after-sales service in India for warrenty claim stuff if something happens

Are there any brands/models to avoid due to common issues?

Like motherboard failures, hinge issues, overheating, bad thermals, screen bleed, weak service, etc.

Expensive internals with such a cheap build quality should be a warcrime man 🤧🤧

I was travelling on a bus with this thing yesterday. This was inside a laptop cover and that laptop cover was kept inside a laptop bag. Even after doing all of these things, it broke.

Best deal on legion?

So I need a new laptop going to college and I feel like legion would be the best for me.

My only requirements are 1 Tb SSD, oled display and that it should last me at least all 4 years.

What is the best deal I can get?

I also visited a showroom and the minimum he quoted for an oled was 2.5L for a legion 5 pro 32gb ram and it was too much.

Id like to keep it near 1.5L or below if possible.

I game in a hostel without AC so I think the classic of Legion pro 5 should offer more value. But RTX 5070 gives almost a 20% more performance than 5060.

First of all why is UNIDAYS coupon not working . It was working at first but my dumbass removed the laptop from the kart for some reason and now it won’t let me use any UNIDAYS coupon.

Also how does the CC cash back work? Like how long does it usually take for it to come

And is there anything about the laptop that I should know about?

> For “Build Your Own” customised laptop orders the usual delivery timeline is 6 to 8 weeks. These are custom made based on the specific. Lenovo will reach out to you within the next 12-15 working days with an update on expected delivery timelines for your customised laptop.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'LL TAKE 6-8 WEEKS TO DELIVER??!! I WANT IT NOW

When I was ordering it, it said the laptop would be delivered by 25th may and the mouse and bag by 4th may. So was it all a LIE???!!!

Should've just gone with Amazon or Flipkart, the website was cheaper and had a better deal, I didn't know it'd take longer than the delivery date they said.

u/DoctorDoom_02837 — 12 days ago

Honestly, I had to suffer a lot during the return process as they had a no return policy and I tried every trick in the book to return it. I had already ordered it for a very low price, I think I'm the only person in the entire subreddit to have gotten it this cheap. But then I decided to return it and they gave me 519 rupees more than what I was owed. This was back in September-October. Now I got a call a few days back asking for the extra money back. Do I return it? Can I face problems if I don't.

It has been an extremely frustrating last couple of days, where the order says it is out for delivery, but doesn't arrive. I sit at home the whole day expecting for the order to arrive, cancel all my plans and at the end, I get nothing. The listed phone number for the contact guy is always busy, so that is no help. Their support was designed to drain you mentally. You can call, chat or whatever, but you'll never get past automated replies. And all of them say the same thing. They don't explain why the package wasn't delivered, when it has been out for delivery for two consecutive days. The website gives you the option of raising a support ticket, but clicking on it takes me to the delivery status page, where I get no new information. Same story with their stupid app.

Finally, I give up and decide to pick up the package myself. But nowhere can I find where the heck do I need to pick it up from. The app has an option to self-collect, but how does one self-collect, when one doesn't know the location???

Who the heck creates work flows that work like this???

If they could not deliver the package, then why show the status as "Out for delivery"? Is the customer expected to just pause his life and wait forever?

What’s a normal price for 16GB DDR5 laptop RAM in India?

Hey guys, I have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (Ryzen 7 8745HX, RTX 5060) with 16GB DDR5 5200MHz RAM, and I’m planning to upgrade to 32GB (adding another 16GB stick).

On Amazon, the prices look way too high, so I’m confused.

What would be the normal/expected price for a 16GB DDR5 SODIMM in India right now? Also, where do you guys usually buy from?

Any help would be appreciated!

Given my past experience with Delhivery, can I request Lenovo to change the delivery partner to something like Blue Dart or DTDC? In my area, these are easier to work with. They usually call and ask me to pick up the delivery, which I don’t mind as it’s not too far away. With Delhivery, however, I seem to be hitting a brick wall.

Has anyone got their delivery partner changed?
