I signed up for ONE summer class and I'm being charged over $1200. Is this normal?

This will be my first class taken at UNLV. It's an online, 3 credit class. I'm also taking a summer class at CSN, same exact setup, and that's only gonna be $500. Is it normal for a single summer class to cost this much???

Math 132 retake

I sadly have to retake Math 132 because I unfortunately stupidly missed the final exam last Saturday because I exhausted myself and fell asleep studying and my professor (Professor Sadri) basically said that's pathetic and didn't let me take the exam.

Now I am looking at class options for next semester annnnd don't know if it's a good idea to take the same professor (Professor Sadri) or try a different professor. What do you guys think? If I take the same professor I guess I'll know what to expect maybe? and I don't know if it'll benefit me but I lowk am just rlly salty at the professor because me not being able to take the exam after studying like crazy and then him basically just straight up saying nope kinda made me crash out and I just know I'm not gonna be in the mood to learn at all if I'm near him LMAO. Bc I know some people that went through something similar had a professor that still let them take the exam so idk I'm just really upset at him. But what do you guys think? I'm thinking of trying Professor Prag but is he even a good professor? Should I just take Sadri again? Prag definitely has better class times though so I really don't know guys. Somebody help LMAO.

I love anime, video games, raving, and just hanging out. I really want to be able to go to events, have fun, and meet new people. DM me if youd be interested! I do live off campus but am willing to take a drive to chill with people. 21F btw :)

No way of passing a class

So i am in a class this semester and there are only 4 assignments for the entire semester. One of the grades just came in for my midterm exam and its bad, i failed it, and doing the calculations there is no possible way for me to get a good grade in this class even if i get 100% on the final. With a 100% which i doubt i can achieve, i would finish with like 67-68%. What im wondering is should i just drop the class and take the W to not completely tank my gpa? i’m taking 6 classes and rest of my grades i’d be finishing with high A’s and a B. I literally don’t know what to do any advice?

Welp, with Canvas hacked, the last week or so of school should be fun

Have a paper I need to submit tomorrow and then an exam next week. At least with the paper I can just email the professor, but interested to see what happens with my online class.

Missed my exam

I feel so stupid. I made a post earlier about this but thought might as well make another one. I woke up this morning an hour after my exam started and I missed it. I genuinely have never felt so stupid and embarrassed before in my life. I immediately emailed my professor and even rushed to UNLV to see if I can talk to him in person but nope. I received an email like an hour or two later saying my reasoning is no excuse and I can't take the exam. I think I am just beating myself up more for the fact that I genuinely tried so hard and studied so much constantly for the past like 2 weeks. I stayed up late like 2-3 am every night, I was even at UNLV in the Student Union till 10 pm last night studying. I genuinely tried so hard and I fucked it all up because I wanted to "lay down for a bit". I know now that I overworked myself. I also have 2 jobs that I was working at constantly through out the week. So I definitely just exhausted myself and I clearly am paying the consequences.

If anyone has gone through this, or has any advice please let me know. My professor said that I can try emailing the Math Board to appeal my case and try to convince them to give me another chance. I'm hoping they say yes so that I can tell my professor and take the exam. Please guys any advice or something. I am genuinely at loss of hope and don't know what to do.

academic integrity accusation

im taking this fine arts class this semester thinking it wouldn't be such a pain in my ass compared to my stem courses. WRONG. this class has literally ruined my semester and now towards the end of the semester, my professor thinks I used AI for assignments and "faked" my doctors note. how low can you go after a student literally explained to you what's happening in their life and says "yeah I understand" in their face. he emailed me saying he contacted the department and they will review my work. how long does this process take? I know for a fact I didn't plagiarize or "faked" my doctors note. what can I expect and how can I defend my case? what should I bring in to prove? will this be detrimental to my grad school applications and transcript? please help. thank you! (btw this is my first time getting accused for ai)

Confused on my final

I have a final for a class this week. The class is normally Monday and Wednesday from 11:30am-12:45pm. The professor said in class that the final would be on a Tuesday at 10:10am. The syllabus AND canvas show that the final exam is due on Wednesday. I’ve emailed the professor for clarification but haven’t heard back yet.

Hypothetically, if I missed my final due to this issue. What can I do about it?

Edit: thanks guys. I got a response to my email early this morning confirming it was Wednesday and he’d make an announcement on canvas. 😊

Is being a General Subjects Tutor a good job?

I’m curious if it is a good or easy job to take on especially during summer terms. I am taking classes myself during the summer and already have 1 job, looking for a 2nd that I could potentially form my own schedule around.

If anyone has worked there or had experiences there could you share your experience? And additionally if anyone knows if it’s any different during summer sessions.

I have a wide amount of subjects i’d be able to help with if gives me a better chance, including KIN 223, KIN 224, BIOL189, BIOL190, BIOL 191, CHEM 103, & CHEM 121 to name a few of the big ones.

FYS question

So, I’m about to graduate high school and if everything goes right, I’ll have 45 credits before I start my first semester at UNLV, but that means I am exempted from FYS. Do I get the credit? Or do I have to make it up? Do I still have to do SYS? Can someone help me out?

Like I get it. But im at the point where I am annoyed because these professors are so focused on catching students using AI that they'll find anything to question you about and then I would have to pull my goddamn receipts that it is MY work.
You're not even focusing on my actual work.
Its happened to me twice this semester and both times they end up giving me the grade i deserve in that paper but like why do i gotta go above and beyond to prove its not AI because now i know you barely skimmed through my paper lol

Half of these professors are using AI to catch students on AI anyways lol
but it gets to the point that I always have to make sure I have record of me writing the papers JUST INCASE.
My professor today asks me about a sentence on my paper and says shes starting to think i didnt write my paper...OVER A SENTENCE that is not plagiarized or flagged by turnitin. so now I send my receipts w dates/time which includes screenshots of my research materials, brainstorming notes, multiple copies of rough drafts and a bunch of other shit.
Im thinking if i should start filming myself the whole time im writing my paper so ill just send that to the next professors who wanna say something.

i mean specifically with the anti-abortion people, and their huge banner of the “baby”. i mean its honestly just straight up gore, real or not.

can i bring a tv and just show people getting beheaded and killed and say its something like “this is whats happening in Palestine!” or something like that. like i feel like there should be a choice to see that or not. i cant believe both the staff and student governments aren’t doing anything about that specifically.

like i get it, they can table. but dont show anyone anything theyre not interested in. i mean cmon even the jw people right across from them are minding their business more than these people.

Any advice for an Incoming transfer student ?

I'm graduating from CSN this next week and i'm going to transfer to UNIV to attend Lee Business School. But since I am a transfer, l am not eligible to enroll into any of my upper division classes. I was allowed access to enroll into BUS 321 but all classes are full now.

Is it normal procedure to wait a month from my enrollment date to wait for my grades to post here from CSN?

I tried talking to an advisor at LBS but they told me I can't do anything but wait.

I'm wondering if anyone else dealt with this and if they have any advice?

I am also just worried whether I will not be able to enroll into any classes and have to take a “gap”
