Hi, I got admitted to the UBC BCS program for winter 2026. This news is obviously very exciting, but I got a new job earlier this year, which I didn't have when I applied. I was wondering if anyone is planning to pursue this program part-time alongside work? If so, any strategy or tips for doing the same? I'm based in Ontario, but can work for a few weeks in BC. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

So for some context, I got into UBC and I also won a scholarship but I only have film studies this semester because I am done with everything else. But my Film studies teacher gave me only 10% ( I got my mid term report card on my ed) What do I do now?

I have completed all my assignments but my teacher is just pissed because I don’t attend my classes so he gave me a 10% I am really really scared. Is there a chance for UBC rejecting my offer.

I also checked my transcript on my transcript services but it does not show my failing grade for film studies?

What measures should I take please help I am very very scared! I haven’t even told my parents about it yet.

Question regarding contribution to community

For the contribution to community part from the admissions criteria, does it matter how recent my volunteer work / community contribution is?

Does it matter if most of my volunteer work is from last year?

and should I do more volunteer work this year, even though I've done a lot of volunteering last year, in order to strengthen my application?
