So, I play the game in french, and have named my island "Hoshi", but I cannot for the life of me find a way to make the game pronounce it correctly

No matter what I write in the pronounciation, the game ALWAYS adds a "y" in front of the word, pronouncing it as "yoshi", the shi part is fine, so I kept is as is

I tried:

-Oh shi

-Ho shi

-o shi

-eau/heau/eauh shi

-au/hau/auh shi

-ô/hô/ôh shi

-oo shi

-o o shi

And no matter what, it always adds the sound y before the "o" sound, wich confuses me A TON because in french you don't just randomly add that sound in front of the letter/sound o ???

It makes no sense and I can't find any ways to get rid of it, please help

edit: I also just tried to write "o" alone, just that letter, and the game still pronounces it as "yo", I'm genuinely lost as to why it adds a random y in front

edit 2: I feel like I'm going insane, I just tried renaming a mii as hoshi, and here it says it correctly

So the game can say "oshi" when putting "hoshi" as a mii's name, but when putting "hoshi" as the island's name, it says "yoshi", adding a random y for no reason

edit 3: okay so I found something else, I tried adding a whole bunch of letters one by one, and it ALWAYS adds a "y" or "i" sound in front of the first letter, no matter wich one it is

If I write "e" it says "ye", if I write "p" it says "yp", etc

I have no idea why it does that, but it means the issue isn't my island's name, it's the way the game pronounces island names in general

If you go back and listen to the rap song you could give to miis, you might notice a specific line that sticks out... (actualy just looked at the title, and uhhhhh, yeah lmao)

I made a comment on another post about this but would love some more input. I’m not familiar with the previous game at all so would love to hear from the veterans.

Longevity? What do we think? What was the old one like? Is it like the sims where it can kind of go on forever? Or does it get more repetitive and predictable (not saying sims doesn’t do that, but I feel like there is a lot of variation)

Island size? How big do we think it can get? Are they gonna cap the miis so I can only have like 10? I feel like that would get so boring so quickly for me

Any of other thoughts and opinions appreciated. I love games like this but don’t want to drop $60 if it’ll be short game play.
