So I just finished reading the outsiders to friend because she wanted to get in on my current interest, but she doesn’t really like to read. She loved it, we had a great time, all that stuff. But now we have a problem, we really liked hoping on call and reading every night, and we kinda both miss it. So I was wondering if you have any book recommendations for fans of the outsiders? Maybe a book by S.E. Hilton, or something just in the same genre?
r/TheOutsiders
Heres my reccommendations:
I Was Never Gold
It's on Wattpad (only one chapter so far but omg it's so good)
Challypop
Wattpad and it's finished!
look im not a huge fan of this book or the movie, dont get me wrong i think its perfectly fine and its honestly really fun to read and watch (the one time 2 years ago i did watch it) but its just not for me. anyway my english teacher wanted us to go home today and watch the movie and compare the books events to the movies event, problem is i cant watch the movie at home due to some personal reasons. can someone possibly list like idk 10 differences from the movie to the book?
Please comment The outsiders fanfiction that is really good. It can be anything like sad, funny, just anything.
So in the poem Robert Frost wrote, there's a ljne that says "So dawn goes down to day,..." clearly indicating it's using the metaphor of a sunrise to convey the idea of beauty being fleeting. But, there is so much talk in The Outsiders about sunsets? I get each idea respectively, but I don't understand how they connect. Am I tweaking? Or did anyone else notice it?
I saw this on another platform and it is weird to me. This poster, claims that Dally dies on November 9th. Not only that, but said that this is the commonly accepted fact. It is? Where? I've never heard this.
I know it's not the case, because Pony has been 14 just more than a month and his canon birthday is July 22. And we know Soda's birthday is a month away, his canon birthday being October 8. So, we know we're in September.
So my question is, where is this coming from? I've never heard or read it. I know it's not a musical thing since the poster uses book canon. Anyone know where this idea comes from?
By my calculations, Ponyboy is 14 and is in 10th grade. Is that correct? We know he is in a higher grade than his age. And I believe Oklahoma high school only had 3 grades, not 4. So, he's 14 in 10th grade. 15 in 11th grade and 16 in 12th. He turns 17 the summer that he graduates.
Is that what everyone else believes?
I think I Hinton herself, who really Ponyboy is the mirror of was 16 in her Senior year.
i hate the theatrical cut of the outsiders in my opinion cause it cuts most of the good stuff from the book just like the upcoming animal farm reboot made by angel studios honestly if you wanted a movie that changed stuff from the book but still had most of its themes don't watch the this movie if your planning on watching this cut just watch soylent green or scott pilgrim vs the world but if your gonna watch the outsiders movie just watch the complete novel cut
So we have Ponyboy's canonical birthday from S.E herself as being July 22nd. Meaning if Ponyboy has been 14 for a month the story is in August 22nd to early September since I doubt Pony was being exact on the date.
Sounds fine right? Ponyboy is 14 for a month and the story takes place in August or September.
How is Two-Bit almost 19 then? His birthday is June 20th according to S.E so like he is closer to 18 than 19 when in the book he's described as 18 and a half.
Now I'm just restarting the book so I don't know for a fact in the book Pony says he's been fourteen for a month so maybe this was a film exclusive thing. Either way the inconsistency is secertly killing me.

Had the pleasure of watching the show in Knoxville and still can’t stop thinking about it. Saw the Sunday matinee and when I say the cast put on a flawless performance. There were a couple of mic issues at the very beginning but that’s technical and they fixed it super fast. I had Brandon as Two-Bit, Christian as Johnny, JD as Ponyboy, and Jaydon as Dally. Christian delivered a light-hearted Johnny Cade. It felt like even with the cards he had been dealt, he found a way to smile through it all. It was a refreshing take on his character. JD’s acting of a 14 year old kid is so good! Just little nuances that he would deliver where I’m like, yep, that’s exactly how a 14 year old would do it. And their voices together…WOW! I think Jaydon’s Dally needs to be talked about more. There was something so vulnerable in the way he was able to portray Dally while being the toughest greaser of them all. I felt like he hinted at Dally having an internal battle with himself the entire show and as if maybe the reason why he was so protective of Johnnycakes is that he may have saw himself in him. Mental health awareness was not a thing back then but watching his performance, you can see it was definitely there. And his voice lingers. It may haunt me for the rest of my life. If you get a chance to catch him as Dally. Do it! I’d be happy to see how he takes on Johnny Cade as well. Oh, also did get to watch him as Two-Bit. Love how he is a protector as Two-Bit as well but in a completely different way.
I was thinking about seeing the musical for my birthday next year (which is in January), but I wasn’t sure if the musical is leaving broadway soon or not, I also wanted to know your opinions of the musical, if you enjoyed it or not.
im just looking for any rp discord severs with an open role for ponyboy because I love to rp as him juat and head up I am 19 so I understand of you wouldn't want me in sever im also not to big on shipping it’s not that I don’t hate it I’m just not very good at romance in rps

Does anyone have suggestions on who I should do for the other two ?? The project’s theme is “nostalgia”, if that matters.
