[THPS 1+2] Starting to use the shoulder buttons after many hours into the game
So I’ve been playing the game for a couple of months now and have already 100% completed it with about ten skaters and completed a good number of goals, and only now have I learned about the L1/R1 spin. Can someone explain why it’s important to learn how to use it? And more importantly, is it worth learning how to use it now after dozens of hours of gameplay where I’ve gotten used to doing spins with the D-pad?

looking for info about 1998 pre-tony THPS beta build
so everyone knows about the April 9th 1999 beta build that’s playable. but nobody talks about the FIRST Pre-Tony beta version of the game using the apocalypse engine that was most likely shown to Tony circa 1998. there’s only one website i could find any info about it on here’s the link: https://www.unseen64.net/2011/01/11/tony-hawks-pro-skater-ps1-beta/

FINALLY!
I basically did a marathon over the last 2 days. Got the last hard get there's, gaps, and getting to Level 100.
Took me 110 hours to get the Platinum!
This is my 2nd platinum trophy ever. My first was Astro's playroom 🤣

THPS 3 + 4 - Speedrun - London - Sub 1:03
https://youtu.be/rQty834KA7A Happy Friday all! Took me 2 weeks to work on this level and was an happy to say that I cut 17 seconds of my pb. There were a lot of sections that I had to work before putting it all together. Especially know when to cancel the cutscenes in order to have the buses be close together since they move while the cutscenes are going and there are a few spots that I could be smoother on. Overall, really happy with this run and proud for getting into 4th place!

To anyone playing THUG on an emulator: DO NOT rely on in-game saves, ALWAYS use Save States.
I lost 17 hours of progress in Tony Hawk’s Underground because my emulator froze exactly when I hit "Save Game." Since the write process was interrupted, the file got corrupted and my save is now completely unusable, forcing me back to the halfway point of the game. I wanted to avoid using save states to play fairly, but I was so stupid enough not to save it that way in case of emergency.
To avoid this bullshit, the golden rule is to abuse Save States. Do a quick save before and after every session, and never overwrite the same slot—rotate your save slots so you always have a secure backup.
I'm going to keep playing, but only focusing on the main missions and forgetting about the other side missions and collectibles, screw them.
