Greetings from the Staff Team in regards to the recent drama around the removal of CC Fixxzy. Aswell as info about the development of 0.8 (Game questions answered by Zurvivor himself)

As there has been alot up in the air on WHY he was removed, let us make it clear and simple.

- Youtuber Fixxzy was removed from the CC program due to his newest video, which he says he is stepping away from the game until something big happens, so he was removed as he has no plans to make any more content as far as we can tell.

Why were we so quick to remove him?

- Another simple answer, he said, he did not want to make more content until something BIG comes out? if someone doesnt plan on making more content why be in the CC Program, whos entire purpose is to make it easy to tell who would be making surroundead videos.

Status of the game!

- Zurvivor is working on fixing a few game breaking bugs/AI Pathing bugs hes been made aware of, while he isnt active in the community as much, he does still watch things and check on bugs that are pointed out.

Why is the update to 0.8 taking so long?

- 2-3 Gamebreaking bugs appeared the day before a update to 0.8 happened, aswell as a few irl related things happening in his life so he had to take a step back before returning to work on the game and fix the bugs he found.

Why doesnt Zurvivor talk with us?

- another simple answer! Zurvivor's main focus has been trying to fix bugs and talk with just who he needs to talk with, so he often forgets to make announcements about game progress.

THIS IS NOT A SHIT ON FIXXZY POST, THIS IS US JUST CLEARING THE AIR ON THE SITUATION. WHILE ALSO GIVING A UPDATE ON THE STATUS OF THE GAME, PLEASE BE NICE REDDIT I KNOW IM ASKING ALOT <3

Just wanted to check out the "weird thing in the mountains", found out its *redacted*, and the weather might tell me not to go in there...

On stream I went to the *redacted* area, and just as I was making my way closer, thick fog came up. Maybe that's a sign?

Unlimited Wood Planks

Fun little bug for those who want to build a big base but don’t want to cut down an entire forest. Craft yourself a handy-dandy small quarter wall for one one plank and then disassemble it. You now have two wood planks. Repeat this as many times as you like and you’ll have yourself your own little wood plank factory.

Not a huge bug but something to mention for Zurvivor :)

Finally doing well but can't find a compass or GPS...

So, I'm guessing that a lot of new players do what I've done and end up restarting multiple times as characters die quickly at first.

"Wow, that's a big zombie..."

"What are all these red specks floating through the air?"

"Are those guys with guns friendly?"

"What happens when I run out of water?"

"Why do I hear footsteps when I'm looting this container?"

I've finally got a character now that's survived multiple days. I have a vehicle. I have plentiful food and water. I have guns. I have plenty of storage containers. What I cannot find either at the Safe Zone traders or at any of a dozen POIs is either a compass or a GPS. The Random Number Gods hate me, apparently. On one hand, I'm basically stuck navigating via roads and landmarks, which is kind of cool. On the other hand, I cannot tell where airdrops are located, which sites are infection sites, radiation zones, etc. Not having compass markers is also REALLY disorienting if you move out into the trees for any distance.

Anybody have any tricks for establishing direction? IRL, you can use the location of the sun based on your latitude.

9mm Drum will NOT go on m9 9mm handgun. I have searched for an hour.

This is extremely annoying. I have also tried removing a mag from the m9 that doesnt exist. Someone please tell me what the drum mag is actually compatible with since the wiki is a mechanic that is inducing me to uninstall this game.

How to get vehicles

I’m having a hard time knowing what’s a broken down vehicle and a drivable one because I swear I’ve seen 3 drivable vehicles but they weren’t

No cars

I’ve been looking for a car for hours now and I just can’t seem to find one anywhere. I’m prepared with repair kits and fuel but literally no cars to be seen… are there any locations cars just always spawn? I’m a little tired of blindly walking around the main roads and finding nothing.

Friendly Scavengers

I don´t know if anybody has already said anything like this, and I know it is a long shot.

But wouldn´t it be awesome if you could recruit Friendly Scavengers?? I mean, like 3 at the most; you can get them to your base and lock them with the little base flag for example. And send them to do things for you, like harvest a resource "wood" or make them loot a specific category of items for you, like "medicinal".

Of course this would be broken, so they should have no equipment, and you have to supply them with food and water, as well as weaponry, tools, ammo, etc... And they "use" things faster, like an axe would lose durability three times faster when it is used by them.

You could also make it so that when you send them to do something, based on what gear you have given them it gives you a "success chance". Like I send one to loot, but I have not given him good gear, so he only has a "72%" chance of success.

I think this would be great to make some items valuable again; maybe you have the best armor in the game, so you never pick any, but now it makes sense as you need it for one of your guys, same goes for a GPS or compass, once you have one the only value they have is for them to be disassembled.

I think this would give a lot of items new use and make for a funny way to make your base feel alive, heck you might even build the next safe zone in the whole valley. And Scavengers would become more than a random workbench on the side of the road.

Sorry about my english by the way, not my first language. I have been playing the game for 4 days now, I know it is a one person job and I find it absolutely amazing! Really loving it, just thought maybe it would be a good addition.

Recently learned about SurrounDead and had an absolute blast learning the game. Here's my first 'successful' permadeath run at nightmare difficulty. I'm eagerly looking forward to 0.8 and hoping to come back for a 100 days playthrough when it hits.

Also, I've got a very genuine question after my run. How on earth do you survive nightmare difficulty without cheesing, ie preventing enemies from getting to you? Especially on the 0.8 update where healing is gaining an animation and can't be spammed.

I played experimental for the first time yesterday and was doing my average smack a zombie with a crowbar early game and HAD ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA that Z added new types in. Went to smack a zombie and he just stood there and stared at me, BLEW UP, and 1 tapped me. I dont pay attention to patch notes because i like finding changes organically, and well, this was quite the change for me. From then on i was VERY meticulous about looking at HP and names of zombies before running at them.

I'm sure it's been posted before but I thought it would be a cool spot for a base. There's no loot up there.
