Finally made an anime streaming site after hianime shutdown
Hey guys,
I’ve been working on a side project called Yomi and wanted to share it with anyone who's tired of poor anime sites especially after hianime shutdown. And I want to give you the best alternative possible.
And another reason why I built this was because I hate having to keep a separate "filler list" tab open while watching older series. On Yomi, every episode is color-coded (Canon/Filler/Recap) right in the picker so you know exactly what you can skip.
A few other things I added:
> Watch Parties:* You can generate a room code and watch with friends. It’s fully client-side, so it’s super snappy.
> Proper AniList Sync:* You can import your whole library and export your progress back to AniList so you don't have to update it manually.
> Multiple Servers:* If one source is slow, you can switch instantly.
> It’s completely free and I’m mostly just looking for some feedback on the UI/UX.
> Check it out here: Yomi.To
> Let me know what you think or if there are any features you’ve always wanted.
“Modern anime fans don’t actually want good writing. They want aura moments and TikTok edits.”
I’m convinced most anime discussions today are cooked by short clips and hype culture.
A character does one cold pose with phonk music and suddenly people call them “better written than Lelouch.”
Half the fanbase skips slow build-up, politics, dialogue-heavy arcs, or character development… then calls anything without constant fights “boring.”
Anime like:
- Monster
- Steins;Gate
- Legend of the Galactic Heroes
- Vinland Saga S2
would probably get trashed if released today weekly.
Meanwhile shows survive purely on:
- flashy animation
- aura farming
- powerscaling edits
- “HE’S HIM” moments
Not saying hype anime are bad. I love hype too.
But people acting like animation = storytelling quality is insane.
What anime do you think is ACTUALLY well written… and what anime is carried entirely by hype?
Edit - Am I wrong or right tell in comments below 👇
I built my own anime streaming website and it’s surprisingly fast
Tired of anime sites that buffer every 5 seconds, spam ads everywhere, or just feel slow as hell.
So I ended up building my own anime streaming site ( AI created project) with:
• 4 Servers
• 1080p Sub & Dub
• Old anime + latest seasonal shows
• Watchlists
• MAL/AniList import
• User profiles + comments
• Actually smooth browsing experience
Been testing and improving it daily and honestly it already feels better than most sites I used before.
OPEN SOURCE ON MY GITHUB
If anyone’s curious, the site name is AniXo. Search on Google Should be easy enough to find. ( https://anixo.online ) ( make sure u disabled your Ad blocker otherwise it will kick u to other page )
New Anime Site Anixo
Been working on my anime streaming project called AniXo for a while now mainly as a learning + side project.
A lot of the development was AI-assisted, but I still had to connect, debug, optimize, and build everything together myself.
Focused a lot on:
• Clean UI
• Better mobile experience
• Continue watching
• Backend optimization/caching
• Fewer annoying popups compared to most sites
Still updating and improving things regularly little by little.
Would genuinely appreciate feedback/suggestions from people who try it.

What’s an anime everyone loves but you just couldn’t get into?
No hate, just curious.
Sometimes a super popular anime just doesn’t click no matter how much you try.
Mine was: One Piece ( I just watched till Reverse Mountain Arc)
What’s yours?
Kaizenime in production anime streaming site
Hey everyone,
I’m currently working on an anime streaming site called Kaizenime also thinking about the name Kaizen Anime
The goal is to make something clean fast and actually enjoyable to use on both mobile and PC not cluttered not confusing just smooth
Right now I’ve got things like:
modern UI with a green and orange theme
trending section with ratings watchlist system
user profiles and premium system
clean anime pages with watch and details
Still early in development but I want to build this with the community in mind not just my own ideas
So I wanted to ask what features would actually make you use a site like this daily
What do you hate about current anime sites
What features do you wish existed but don’t
What would make this stand out for you
Also thoughts on the name
[Kaizenime vs Kaizen Anime]
I’m open to all feedback
Anixo Site is in Production
A lot of Redditors and Anixo supporters recently reported several bugs, sync issues, provider problems, and UX-related issues on the website. I genuinely appreciate everyone who took the time to report them and help improve the platform.
Because of this, I’ve temporarily moved Anixo into Production Mode so I can properly focus on fixing everything instead of pushing rushed updates.
So far, we’ve identified almost 24+ issues/improvements, including:
• AniList/MAL sync problems
• Bookmark issues
• Dub switching bugs
• Provider/loading problems
• Search & browse instability
• Performance issues during traffic spikes
• Continue Watching bugs
• Filtering & indexing improvements
and more.
The fixing process may take around 24 hours since I also have ongoing exams right now, but I’m actively working on resolving everything as quickly as possible.
Thank you to everyone supporting Anixo and helping make the platform more stable and polished.
My Animekai Alternative for now - you're welcome lol
Not gatekeeping. ReAnime has potential. But barely F all episodes for the stuff I want to watch. You can only send a request and wait for them to upload. But it's definitely one to watch no pun intended. It has Anilist auto sync like Animekai which I didn't use on Animekai.
But after about an hour of actually updating Mal list and updating Anilist. It's definitely something worth doing especially with these websites randomly going down.
Animekai went down initially due to the video servers getting physically destroyed in a fire. But the person behind the website just said F it I'm shutting it down. Some might say he should have had a backup. But honestly it's so random this happened...or it wasn't and I'm sure people will say a Crunchyroll agent done it 😂😭
If you have any better alternatives.. I was gonna say share. But I dunno now lol maybe share in DMs but mention you do in the comments. It's up to you...Crunchyroll agents might be watching lol
Built a modern Android anime streaming UI while learning app development
Started building a modern streaming-style Android app focused on:
• Smooth UI & animations
• Fast playback
• Continue Watching
• Subtitle customization/sync
• Better optimization for low-end devices
Still actively improving the player, performance, and overall experience step by step.
I’m building this solo while learning, so I’d genuinely love feedback from anime/Android users on features that matter most to you 🙌
Anime Tosho is shutting down in less than 10 minutes
The well known anime DDL+NZB mirror will halt the ingestion of new torrents around 2026-05-09 00:00:00 GMT after nearly 15 years of extracting subtitles, taking screenshots, posting ffprobe outputs, mirroring to usenet, dealing with trolls and uploading to DDL hosts.
The torrents will stay for as long as their trackers and seeders remain online, they were never up to Anime Tosho. The biggest loss has been the automated usenet mirroring and subtitle extraction. Not to mention Anime Tosho is a pillar for the popular torrent (and nzb) streaming client Hayase.
A true successor has yet to appear. Current alternatives are all limited in some capacity.
Thank you admin for creating and maintaining Anime Tosho.
STOP USING PIRACY SITE ACCOUNTS!!!!!
STOP USING PIRATE ACCOUNT/LOGIN & COMMENTS (ANIWATCH, HIANIME, KAI...)
Use AniList.co / MAL.net / theanimecommunity.com
bro. just stop.
every time a site goes down people act like they lost EVERYTHING 💀
watch history gone. comments gone. “community” gone. panic everywhere.
hianime down.
aniwatch down.
animekai keeps getting hit with constant issues.
and every single time it’s the same cycle:
>“what happened??”
“is it gone??”
“any fix??”
“any alternative sites??”
brainrot comments for 200 replies straight 😭
all your data sitting inside random site accounts that can disappear overnight is CRAZY work.
- use AniList
- use MAL
- use ACTUAL tracking sites
- keep your stuff outside whatever pirate site is trending this week
also the comment sections on these sites are just… chaos.
half coping. half misinformation.
anyways.
but honestly the bigger point is this,
stop tying your whole anime life to unstable sites.
it’s not worth the reset every few months.
I recommend using sites like animepahe.com or miruro.com that either outsource their community or just DON'T STORE YOUR DATA IN THEIR SERVERS WHICH CAN GO AWAY ANYTIME.
Small request to App & Site developers: Please support MAL, AniList, and SIMKL sync
I honestly think this is one of the most important features anime streaming sites/apps can add.
A lot of sites eventually:
- shut down,
- stop getting updates,
- get abandoned,
- or the developers lose interest over time.
When that happens, users can lose years of watch history, completed anime lists, ratings, progress tracking, and everything they built up over time. Switching to another app becomes super annoying because there’s usually no easy way to export or transfer everything.
If apps supported MAL, AniList, or SIMKL syncing, it would help a lot because:
- people could easily switch between different apps/sites
- watch progress stays synced across devices
- users don’t lose their lists if a platform dies
- it makes cross-platform watching way easier
- users feel safer investing time into the app
A lot of people already use multiple apps for streaming, tracking, recommendations, and discovering anime. Sync support would make the whole experience way smoother.
This feature honestly helps both users and developers long term. Users get freedom and backup for their data, and developers make their platform more attractive and trustworthy.
Also, some of these platforms already have public APIs with a lot of useful features developers can use, like:
- rating data
- scrobbling & check-ins
- playback management
- connected IDs for easier integrations between apps/services
- watchlist syncing
- automatic progress tracking
- recommendations and metadata
- and a lot more
So it’s not just about syncing a list anymore. These APIs can help build a way better ecosystem between streaming apps, tracking apps, and different devices.
I really hope more streaming sites start treating this like a standard feature instead of an extra thing.
Aniverse anime streaming website
So I am making a new anime website called aniverse I've already made the design of the website are animations and effects. This website is going to be like anime Kai & hianime since a lot of people are sad because they shut down so I need your support. Here what I want from you guys:
• best streaming provider to add [MAIN FEATURE]
• which video player should I use (ex: vidstack, etc) [ MAIN FEATURE]
• should I add comments? And tags for like admins and stuff.
• should I add an ai to help you find anime or talk about one and other stuff?
Thats all I need from you guys please write in the comments and feel free to recommend other stuff and I'm gonna pick 3 comments that have the updates to add the features.
Finally I'm launching my anime steaming app y'all please check it out also suggest me where to improve and how to monitize
Crunchyroll or Netflix? Which one is better for watching anime?
I'm trying to decide between subscribing to Netflix or Crunchyroll for anime. Which service would you recommend in terms of content breadth, exclusives, and overall catalog depth?
Recommendations for a streaming site with huge library like Anikai and has a tab for new episodes releases?
Yes I know that the index, everythingmoe and fmhy exist and been searching for a good alternative to Anikai and I know a lot of people been asking as well. I still have to find a good alternative that has a huge library and a tab on home showing new episode releases so I can check daily like I used to with Anikai. I tried anime Nexus and pahe and felt disappointed because they don't have everything available in the library, I am temporarily using shiroko and noticed that one of the providers has the pahe watermark for an anime that is not in pahe but feels weird sometimes using shiroko knowing that it has literally an myanimelist Database for manga and anime but if I try to find like an OVA from a blu-ray that I wanted to watch (in this case nukitashi OVA) it doesn't have anything.
I would have recommendations from those experienced and I usually watch from Windows and Android and I can use a good adblocker if needed.
Thanks
