Hello dancers!

After the DT marathon — where I danced longer than I ever have before — I realized I need to invest in a new pair of men’s shoes that are comfortable and ergonomic for dancing.

This might be anecdotal, but I temporarily lost my hearing the first time I went to Stereo. The temporary hearing loss lasted about 2 days, and then returned to normal. On my second visit, I tried using acoustic ear plugs with a great sound dampening quality and had a very enjoyable experience choosing which songs to take them out for in short bursts while otherwise protecting my hearing for the entire night.

I am 27 and have tried to convince my rave friends to come with me to Stereo nights since, and some are wary due to the noise, but have expressed interest at the thought of using acoustic ear plugs. Obviously, I know many other people who go to Stereo and do not have issues with their hearing.

As I understand it from speaking with staff, this has been brought up to management before as a concept. Some staff have agreed that it would be a really good idea to include ear plugs in inventory. If there is hesitance because it is believed that ear plugs conflict with the loud, quality music vibe that Stereo has established, I would argue that many people my age are quite health conscious in this way, but would otherwise potentially be Stereo regulars, and if anything, selling acoustic ear plugs could lend itself to the feeling of safety, comfort, and luxury that Stereo already provides in other ways.

First time seeing Digweed at Stereo. Any idea if his set will end at the standard 9-10 am or if it will be more of a marathon running into the afternoon hours. Wondering what time to get there at. Can’t wait! Thanks

I originally sent a version of this to Tommy through Reddit DMs, then realized nobody actually checks those… oops.

I know we all love to complain about our favourite club, but I wanted to take a moment to appreciate and thank Tommy and the staff for keeping the spirit and culture of Stereo alive for 28 years. It can’t be easy… look at how many great clubs have shut down. Stereo is still here.after two fires and a pandemic.

Here’s what it means to me personally.

At the start of this summer, I went through one of the hardest periods of my life. I won’t get into details, but there were moments I genuinely didn’t know if I’d get through it.

I stumbled onto Stereo by chance and decided to go one weekend. I couldn’t believe a place like it existed… the best sound I’d ever heard, the crowd, the incredibly kind staff. It felt unreal. I started going every weekend. It gave me something to look forward to during the week, and in my darkest moments it became a real sanctuary. Gave me something to look forward to every week. I built a genuine group of friends there, and I still go every weekend.

So… thank you for everything that goes into making Stereo what it is.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ your efforts are seen and appreciated ❤️

Long time fan of his productions but never heard him live. Will go in June to hear him ANL at Stereo. I've been to Stereo many times but wondering if anyone has any perspective on his live DJing?

I'm going to see Solomun at Off Piknic on May 21st and I'll stay for a few days while I'm there.

I'd also like to mention that if anyone is selling an extra ticket for Charlotte on Friday, I'm interested And this is where my dilemma begins.

For me, the point is to experience the place, but even better if it's with a DJ I like and know. The problem is that Charlotte is already sold out, and there are still tickets available for Saturday to see Rony Seikaly. I've never seen him live; I've heard some of his sets, and it's not totally my style, but... at the party, it's different, right? My point here is: Is the venue really worth it, or do you have any alternative recommendations? If you help me out and we can meet up, I'll buy you some drinks.

I'm there for work and basically have one night to visit Stereo (Friday, June 12). There is no event listing, so just wondering if it's open and a resident DJ is playing.

I've been there a few times and try to visit every time I'm in Montreal. This is my favourite club ever.

I don’t get much time to goof on Reddit since I’m usually working on my site or posting updates over at r/Moxser**.**

I use the sub mainly to share updates, as I regularly upload a wide range of DJ mixes to my site: http://moxser.com/

Moxser is a project focused on preserving and sharing my large archive of DJ mixes.

There are currently nearly 80,000 mixes available for free streaming, and the platform is evolving from a proof of concept into a more complete release planned for later this year.

The goal is to document and celebrate over 40 years of dance music culture, while also encouraging people to support artists by buying music and attending events.

All mixes are sourced from physical copies.

I avoid linking out to other platforms to prevent issues like dead links, and streams are capped at 96kbps to discourage mass downloading and respect contributors’ wishes.

Recently, I’ve started expanding the archive with tracklists and event flyers where possible.

I also have a backlog of over 200,000 additional mixes that will be added over time.

In the next phase, I’ll be introducing private artist logins so contributors can manage and curate their own pages.

I’ve started adding some mixes from Stereo Montreal and will be digging through my drives over the next week to upload more.

If anyone has anything to contribute—mixes, tracklists, flyers, or anything else that adds to the experience—I’d be happy to include it so everyone can enjoy.
