Crisis Update

I feel like the crisis needs an update. With defenders of the galaxy being upgraded, the crisis should also get upgrades. I think the older ones have stayed the same since they were implemented.

My main inspiration is Crisis Manager - End-Game Edition (3.12.¢). You could already have multiple crisis spawn, but 4.3 brought that to vanilla. Pretty much every crisis should be given more ships and armies. Every crisis with an army should have them as aggressive stance.

For specifics, I have nothing for Cetana. For the contingency, they should behave like the gray tempest. Basically four motherboards or sterilization hubs churning out fleets and armies. I feel like the contingency should also have access to battle frame armies and mega warforms, but i’m not sure about that one since they did take synths with the ghost signal and use them for their armies. I also want to give the contingency a neutron sweep colossus and have their battleships carry seeker drone hangars. I am more open for discussion with the contingency because they are my favorite crisis and it hurts ignoring them for 30 years just to see if the cybrex would spawn and they never do.

For the Prethoryn Scourge, they should spawn with all of their 2000 ships for the second wave. I feel like they should also behave like a criminal syndicate almost to mimic gene stealer cults. Speaking of tyranids, there should be two types of waves. A doomstack wave that moves in unison between 1-3 systems, and a more split up wave that scatters and hits multiple systems at once. The first kind is like hive fleet behemoth and the second one is like hive fleet kraken. It can either be a 50% chance for each type, or the cooler version would be both of them spawn in a 10 year gap maybe but on different sides of the galaxy.

The unbidden should just have the other invaders spawn after 5 years or so, regardless of how much they ate.

I know about the crisis slider, but that’s just alpha strikes and getting one shotted and that’s no fun. The crisis is fighting the entire galaxy and so they should have the ships and armies to do so. The crisis should change the geopolitical landscape of the galaxy and irreparably damaging multiple empires. I know that it might cause some lag, but 4.3 already helped with lag to the point where the game should be able to handle these changes. They’re destroying ships and populations anyways. Thoughts?

Update Thoughts

The May 25th update looks like a lot of quality updates! I was curious what some people thought though.

- For Cosmic Storms, are people enabling the DLC, lowering storm frequency, etc.? I’ve heard mixed reviews and opinions and was curious what people thought though
- Habitat Cap 🙏🏻
- Are there any fun new builds people are thinking about? I’m thinking Slaver Guilds builds back with Penal Colony for a Harkonnen type build.

OTHER EMPIRES CAN GIFT ARTIFACTS YOU ARE MISSING!

I was missing this artifact for about 30 years now and I assumed it bugged out or someone else had gobbled it up but my BOYS had my back! (This is part of the precursor event chain where you find their homeworld after doing 6 precursor anomaly’s)

DLC?

Feel free to tell me I’m inept but isn’t there supposed to be DLC added to the base game? I looked today and there wasn’t an update and I checked the store and nothing has changed there either.

Cetana has the worse end game mechanics

Basically just had to complain as I just downloaded the machine age dlc finally and forced cetana to spawn as the end game to try it out.

I was majorly enjoying the new content and preparing myself for a very early game 2x crisis, never even saw it.

Without warning, my homeworld, home system, my main shipyard and half my fleets just disappear. No fight, no event, just deleted. Reloaded to try and save it and see if it was a random event but it is garunteed lost to a currently uninteractable nanite swarm, as nanite ascended robots which makes sense. I thn proceed to loose 2 more core very important systems with no event to try and stop or even explain it, and lost over half my economy. NPCs instantly start war with me, and I just completely lost interest in the game within 30 minutes of play time.

Quick google told me it was cetana and apparently she can just wipeout fallen empires by spawning in, I just got really unlucky. Any end game mechanic that can just delete a massive portion of player power with no way to fight back or avoid it tho is really bad mechanics imo. I didnt even see the actual end game, just got deleted into subserviance of my neighbor through game code, now they are fighting. Good times.

Quick edit since Ive read some comments: can definitely say the only FE had all its systems on the other side of the small galaxy I was on. Sounds like it may have just been a glitch which means I can try again without fear of this happening, but yah super weird.

Second Edit: I had the Origin that gave me a relic world for start, could that have been the cause?

Turning Dacha into a regular empire

So I've had this empire spawn from the pre-ftls when the AI finds their system. But this run I found them first, took Sol X and now they just sit there as Pre-Ftls. Any way to get them to become a regular empire without invading them? They won't spawn their fleet or go no contact if they already are space faring. And I've got like 3k fleet cap. I don't want to wait till I have jump drives. Any advice?

Xbox question about the DLCs!

The ones specifically free to claim because of the anniversary. Is there a time limit to claiming them? If I just log in do I get them for free?

Machine race pops newbie question.

Playing as a machine empire, and I've created a variety of machine templates for each job. Will the machine pops construction build the best pops for the available jobs on a planet, or do I need to do it manually?

hello, new player asking about the free dlcs

I only started playing on and off about 6 months ago. I don't know how you guys do the anniversaries over here, but I did heat 35$ worth of dlc will be free on pc. do these usually make their way to console? first impression is that they don't show as much love to console players but I hope that's not the case

Cetana spawning in my home system.

Related to my previous post, some people seemed to think I was mistaken on my capital being my capital or if the event actually happened, so I went back and recorded the event to hopefully clear up confusion.
