r/StarWarsCelebration

Started stashing away funds as soon as Japan ended, knowing I wanted to be part of the big 50th. Counted down the days until I could buy tickets. Set an alarm today, camped out and didn’t touch my phone for anything else for three hours, watching the little guy walk.

Got in, 4 day passes were sold out. Added all four single days to my cart…and got an error saying I was trying to bypass the queue and had to go all the way back to the start. Now reading that everything is gone as I’m 65% through queue number 2.

I refuse to give scalpers a dime, but I’ve waited a year for today and feel like it’s been snatched away from me. I know people are saying future official resale is a possibility, but that’s not a definite and I wouldn’t know for months if it’s even an option.

Can’t help but feel completely defeated. Today was supposed to be special.

I have waited in the queue for over three hours now and have still not gotten in. People have reported entering the website well after noon PT and got in to buy tickets after a few minutes. The 20 ticket limit encourages scalping. This process is incredibly punishing to honest fans that just want to attend - this ticketing system is extremely unfair and glitchy. Anyone who was online waiting prior to tickets going on sale should never have to worry about tickets getting sold out before even getting a chance to buy, especially when others log on late and can waltz right in. Very, very, disappointing.

The event organizers should be absolutely ashamed. This isn't some third rate budget convention - DO BETTER. I expect more from an official Lucasfilm event.

Hi all, I’m new to the Reddit posting so not sure how to do this.

My wife called Disney customer service and they took her complaint serious. We looked at Vivid seats and seen there are no longer celebration tickets available. The rep said that reedpop doesn’t always provide feedback to them and they encourage any feedback to go directly to Disney to help keep them in the loop of what is going on. The more evidence and feedback they have the easier it is to implement changes.

Here is the link, Disney product seems to be the most appropriate. https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/contact-us/

Edit: if you know people who purchased resale, they may not be able to get in to the celebration. She also contacted reedpop and they “are aware” of the issue and are “working” to resolve the issue and tickets that are resold and identified will be voided.

Any experiences staying at the Biltmore?

Looking into staying there for Celebration, and I know it was offered as part of the Hotel block. I know that it’s historic with all the pros and cons that come with staying in a 100+ year old hotel, but has anyone had any first hand experiences staying there? Would it be worth it for Celebration?

Disney Support - Current Ticket Situation

As a huge fan that didn't get a ticket, I can highly understand all the people worldwide that suffered the same experience. We have no lack of faith, but we have lack of faith in Greedpop. I highly advise you to contact Disney as well, make them aware of the current situation, even though I assume they already know, but the more attention this gets, the better. Remember. This doesn't only put a bad light on ReedPop, but on star wars and Disney itself.

Link to contact them:

First Timer's Guide to Star Wars Celebration | LA '2027. From a 1st timer for other 1st timers.

I've never been to Star Wars Celebration and LA '27 will be my first for myself, my wife and son. We are excited. I've lived in Northern California for 50+ years and have been to So Cal a number of times but not intimately enough to know the Good/Bad areas around Celebration or things to see besides the obvious like Disneyland so I decided to start a list for 1st-timers like myself.

I've used a combination of the topics that I see in Facebook groups as well as some additives from ChatGPT and wanted to see 4 groupings: Events and Activities at Celebration, Places to Visit outside Celebration, Fan Groups and Fan Meet Ups and Places to Eat. Note I'd love to hear additions to this list so we can make our experience collectively awesome.

Events & Activities at the Celebration

  • Major Lucasfilm panels & announcements
  • 50th Anniversary Star Wars celebrations
  • Actor autographs & photo ops (will be purchasable closer to the start of Celebration)
  • Fan panels & lore discussions (likely published prior to the start of Celebration). Note: I've been advised to plan around a Fan panel / day and try not to overprogram.
  • Celebration-exclusive merchandise shopping. Exclusives will likely be snatched up early so if you want an exclusive or even official Celebration merch, you may choose to get these early to get your item and in your size/quanity.
  • Artist Alley & collectible art
  • Cosplay showcases & costume contests
  • Live podcast/theater stages
  • Evening fan parties & trivia nights
  • Sabacc tournaments & themed meetups
  • Fan - Swag trading events (pins, stickers, patches, custom cards)
  • Running of the Wilrow Hoods & parody fan marches
  • Hotel lobby fan gatherings & after-hours socializing

Places to Visit Outside of Celebration

  • Lucas Museum of Narrative Art
  • TCL Chinese Theatre (original 1977 premiere site)
  • El Capitan Theatre
  • Disneyland Park
    • Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge
  • Downtown LA & Hollywood sightseeing
  • Griffith Observatory
  • Santa Monica Pier
  • Hollywood Walk of Fame

Here are the major Star Wars-related stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that fans commonly visit:

Star Wars Figure Location Notes
Mark Hamill 6834 Hollywood Blvd In front of El Capitan Theatre
Carrie Fisher 6840 Hollywood Blvd Dedicated on May the 4th, 2023
Harrison Ford 6801 Hollywood Blvd Very close to Hamill/Fisher cluster

SWAG (Fan made giveaways to trade with other fans).

Likely to find some ideas on Etsy. Would encourage creativity and theme. Think 50th anniversary, think '77, think LA, etc. I found SWAG Trackers | THE SWAG CREW. They have a ton of photos that SWAG traders have made at past Celebrations. They range from buttons, to patches, pins, 3d Printed and laser cut items to handmade items. Some great inspiration there. They also have had a meet up in the past. Check out their FB Page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/swcswagcrew

Anyone else feeling a bit deflated by the negativity online right now?

I completely understand why people are disappointed about missing tickets, I would be too, but as someone attending their first Celebration, it’s been hard seeing every discussion turn into “it’s not worth it anyway” or “the event is ruined.”

I woke up at 2am for the queue, waited hours, didn’t get the exact passes I wanted, but still managed to get tickets for 3 days. I was genuinely excited. This is my first Celebration, it lines up with my 30th birthday month, and I worked hard to save for it.

I guess I just wanted to say: if you managed to get tickets and are feeling excited, don’t let the internet make you feel guilty for that. You deserve to enjoy it too.

At the end of the day, it’s a massive international event for a franchise people love, especially on a major milestone like 50 years. It was always going to be competitive, crowded, emotional, and chaotic. But that doesn’t mean it can’t still be an amazing experience.

Can people respond with screenshots of scalpers and resellers listed on vendor sites at the same time that the queue was happening, possibly with timestamps? I have one on my end that might help. The AG for California is Rob Bonta, whose page has one allowing consumers to complain about business practices. The form can be found on https://oag.ca.gov/contact/consumer-complaint-against-business-or-company if you'd rather complain directly.

This wouldnt bother me so badly if it weren't for the 20 ticket cap and immediate resell by purchasers.

Just to generally test the waters, amd if anyone with better legal opinion out there could verify, According to chatgpt:

Yes — there absolutely is precedent for ticketing companies being sued successfully or at least forced into substantial settlements over deceptive or anticompetitive ticketing practices. But the important distinction is this:

Most successful cases were not based solely on “tickets sold out too fast.”

They usually involved:

deceptive practices,

hidden fees,

bot/scalper facilitation,

monopolistic conduct,

misleading anti-scalping claims,

or antitrust violations.

The closest analog to your ReedPop concern is probably the wave of lawsuits against Ticketmaster and Live Nation after the disaster.

Key examples:

Taylor Swift / Ticketmaster lawsuits

Fans sued alleging:

Ticketmaster knowingly allowed bots and scalpers,

oversold presale access,

misrepresented anti-bot protections,

and used monopolistic practices.

Some claims survived dismissal and proceeded in federal court. A federal judge allowed major portions of the lawsuit to continue under antitrust and California consumer protection laws.

That matters because courts basically said:

> “These allegations are serious enough to litigate.”

The plaintiffs argued Ticketmaster:

created false expectations of fair access,

knowingly enabled a broken queue,

and facilitated inflated resale markets.

That sounds much closer to your ReedPop theory.

There was also the earlier:

Barfuss v. Live Nation / Ticketmaster

This lawsuit specifically alleged:

intentional deception,

fraud,

price fixing,

misleading queue practices,

and allowing scalpers/bots despite public claims otherwise.

The plaintiffs claimed Ticketmaster:

“gave more codes than it had tickets,”

permitted bots,

and effectively trapped consumers in a fake fair-access system.

Again, very relevant conceptually.

Now, did plaintiffs “win”?

That depends what you mean.

Yes — in settlements and procedural victories

Ticketmaster has paid enormous settlements before.

One famous class action over excessive online ticket fees resulted in roughly a $400 million settlement.

Consumers received:

credits,

ticket vouchers,

and compensation.

There are also ongoing antitrust victories:

In 2026, a federal jury found Live Nation/Ticketmaster operated as an illegal monopoly that overcharged consumers.

That is a massive precedent showing courts and juries are increasingly willing to believe ticketing ecosystems can be unlawfully anti-consumer.

But there’s an important caveat:

Courts usually need evidence of more than incompetence

If ReedPop simply says:

> “We allowed 20-ticket purchases for group travel convenience,”

that alone may not be illegal.

However, the legal risk increases dramatically if plaintiffs could show:

ReedPop knew scalpers were buying in bulk,

ignored obvious bot activity,

failed to implement standard anti-scalping protections,

advertised “fan-first” fairness while structuring sales otherwise,

or profited from resale ecosystems.

The strongest potential claim against ReedPop would probably not be:

> “They allowed 20 tickets.”

It would be:

> “They created the appearance of a fair queue while knowingly structuring sales in a way that overwhelmingly advantaged scalpers and deprived ordinary consumers of a realistic purchasing opportunity.”

That’s much closer to the Ticketmaster litigation language that courts have taken seriously.

One other thing: If fans have screenshots, archived marketing, queue messaging, anti-bot promises, or evidence that tickets immediately flooded resale sites in huge quantities, that materially strengthens any case.

Without that, it becomes much harder to distinguish:

bad planning, from

legally deceptive conduct.

Commerce, Ca

Hey all, had a question for the people familiar with the area. Is Commerce a decent town to stay in? I've never been to Los Angeles, let alone Cali. I found a hotel for a good price and didn't have to pay until check in. I wanted something between the convention center and Disney Land as i wanted to go to galaxies edge for the first time. Any insight is appreciated.

Moxy Hotel Review

So I booked my hotel with the official hotel block and landed on the MOXY. Unfortunately I was so worried about the 15 min timer I did zero research on it. It said it was .17 miles away and they had availability. Google had 3.6 stars out of 5 has anyone stayed there and can tell me about your experience

Hey guys. I'm pretty pissed out. I have been in line since 12pm PT. I see people already got tickets and are trying to resell for an insane price. If you see any online, can you please send me the link? I am going to use that as proof in my case. Why on earth would they let you buy 20 tickets at once? No real person is doing that. If they cared about the fans, they would cap it at 4 maybe 6. Anyone in line I feel like should be able to buy a ticket depending on what you clicked on. Seems like their queue is not set up efficiently. This is BS for such a large organization. Anyways, let me know if youd sign a petition to get them to make the cap smaller and prioritize ethics and not money. I will also ask for tickets at the regular price and to ban the resellers from ever buying the tickets again. Thanks.

I am once again asking for your support. Please use this thread and only this thread for Buying/Selling of tickets. All post not in this thread will be deleted.

To make things easy, please be clear in what it is you're looking for or have to offer. I recommend using the following acronyms... WTB - Want to Buy FS - For Sale ...followed by the specific pass type.

Caveat Emptor. The Mod team is not responsible for any issues that may arise from sales gone wrong. If you are purchasing tickets from a secondary source, please do your due diligence and check users before finalizing any transfers. If conducting a transaction, I recommend PayPal/Venmo Goods & Services as it might provide some protection for both parties. Note, PayPal does charge a small fee for each G&S transaction. You are free to use any cash transfer method buyer/seller agree upon, just be aware of the inherent risk/benefits involved.

You can also use our Discord server for Buying/Selling tickets.

https://discord.com/invite/r-starwarscelebration-314050684083372034

If you come across any redditors looking to scam others or act in bad faith, please let the mod team know and we'll do what we can to investigate the claims and potentially ban users.
