Protoss Plyon from StarCraft
Here’s a follow up to the Artanis I posted earlier but this time it’s a giant glowing rock. Had to prime and paint mostly in subassemblies due to the crystal being transparent plastic. Really happy with the result!

Last AI Mockups, I promise! I have settled on my themes for Zerg and Terran and told the artist to surprise me on Protoss but I mocked some up anyway just to see some ideas.
Thanks to theesperbrush, Krzysztof, and the_miniature_manager for painting awesome figures which are used as the base for these mockups.
Title. What colors of primers will you be using for your armies?
Glad with where I ended up on these schemes. Much more work than the golden boys, but still a scheme where you can produce big results with few real tricks.
Painting guide Saturday (maybe Friday) on my YouTube.
Exactly as it says in the title - does anyone have an STL for the resource pickups from the campaign? Terran, Zerg, Protoss, etc. Been searching, and can't find anything, but I figure they would be great objective markers.
If not, do any 3D modelers want to toss some together on their shop?
Hey everyone, here’s my take on Artanis from the StarCraft miniature game. The trim was a real pain in the butt!
He is the last mini I needed to complete to finish off the founders edition box. Let me know if you want to see any of those as well!
Hello there!
I have started building the Zerglings from the 2-Player Founders edition and I decided to check out the unit cards to see if it gave any guidance about unit sizes.
I have the unit cards for the basic Zerglings and the Raptor variant, but I can’t find a unit card for the Swarmlings.
I have looked around online for a full contents list of the 2-player set to no avail. I watched an unboxing video on YouTube and there was NO sign of a Swarmling card when the deck of cards were shown to the camera!
Can someone please tell me if the Swarmling unit card is supposed to be in the 2-player box. Does anyone know how good Archon Studio’s customer service is?
Thanks in advance.
Would anyone based in the Sydney area be down to start a playgroup?
My solution for "walls" for the Mar Sara mining colony table. Rounded ends nest so you can make continuous walls in any shape you want with 6" lengths.
Hey r/StarCraftTMG, solo dev here. Founders hasn't shipped to most of us yet, but I've been deep in the rulebook and scraped card data and built stimpacked.com so people have proper tooling ready when the boxes start landing.
What it does:
Also in there (for when you're actually playing):
What it's not: a replacement for the rulebook or the official app. It's a reference + bookkeeping tool so your phone's useful at the table.
What's next:
Tell me in the comments what to prioritize.
Pricing: All tools are free. Browsing, list building, in-game companion, leaderboard. The only thing behind a paywall is saving more than 3 lists (Premium, under $3/month). No ads. Nothing that affects gameplay is gated.
Asks:
Will respond to every comment. Cheers.
This happened in my game tonight.
4 Hydralisks wanted to shoot a stalker. Artanis used Hierarch's Stand. Artanis was within 1 inch of a terrain feature, so only 1 Hydralisk could see him. What happens?
A. All 12 dice go into Artanis.
B. 9 dice go into the stalker because 3 of them can't see Artanis and 3 dice go into Artanis.
C. Only 3 dice go into Artanis.
Everyone I talk to about StarCraft inevitably brings up 40k, but not in a positive way. The general consensus makes it sound like nobody actually likes 40k… they just play it because everyone plays it, so they always have people to play with.
I know that sounds absurd, but I’ve talked to about a dozen people and they’ve all basically said the same thing: They want to try StarCraft, but they’re afraid to gamble on it when 40k is a sure-thing and they’ve already bought in. But none of them seem genuinely excited about 40k… they seem like it’s almost forced on them.
Have any of you played it? I’ve never bothered because it’s cost and time prohibitive for me… and frankly I also think the models look dumb as hell. Why is everyone standing on a pile of skulls? Where’s the rest of all those skeletons?
Paul, Swiftblade, and MasterSlowPoke take a look at the first wave of Zerg models from the StarCraft Tabletop Miniatures Game!
Sized to fit on a 32mm objective marker. Couldn't pass it up.
Another terrain piece completed. A big tall centerpiece really draws the eye.
One more large piece to go to round out the Confederate Backwater terrain set (plus some ramps as requested), but first I'm gonna fill in the table with some mineral clusters.
Also, I need to get a dusty badlands mat to complete the look.
Got my adepticon stuff knocked out! Now just waiting for the extra medics, Goliath, marines, and eventual siege tank.
I've been dreaming of this since the first time I saw a Hydralisk miniature and I finally made it!
Probably incorporate it into a video, but haven’t seen much about it just yet
I'm no pro painter, but after a year away from the brush due to moving house and renos, it was nice to sit down and slop some paint on plastic!
Found these on maker world and decided to use them in my games as terrain once I get my pre-order
