Hello, is anyone else a member at The Gym Group in Portswood.

I tend to only go whilst Sainsbury's is open but there might be the odd occasion on a Sunday where go and Sainsbury's will be closed - does anyone know whether the car park underneath actually gets locked / closed overnight?

There is a car park close by but Portswood isn't the most welcoming sometimes and I'm a female so I feel a bit unsafe walking to and from the gym to the other car park.

Anyone know where I can find a job as a 16 year old male or get work experience before gcse preferably (It could also be during gcse or after), just to have extra cash in hand before summer and prepare myself for better job opportunities in college?

Going to be commuting 3-4 days a week from Woolston to Awbridge/Romsey area for work.

I think public transport is out of the question but given no major issues on M27, I'm hoping it's not too bad?

I used to go bouldering with my brother when I was younger and it was tons of fun. I'm moving back to Fareham in July (grew up in Gosport) and looking for a consistent group of friends as I don't speak to many people in the south anymore and don't have a "group" so to say, and heard bouldering is a pretty good place to go to meet people.

I'm a 23 y/o male secondary teacher. Also do a bit of sprinting (re-joining my old training group soon). Also enjoy Indie/DnB so looking for gigs / people to go to gigs with.

The amazing cleaner I’ve had for years has moved out of the area so I’m looking for someone who can do a weekly 2 hour clean of my home in Bassett. Does anyone have a cleaner they can recommend? Ideally someone who brings their own equipment and stuff, but not a deal breaker if not.

Genuinely just being nosey because I wanna know what’s going on and whether it’s some kind of festival or an event that’s going on.

Hello people of Southampton!

I'm a prospective PhD student who was accepted to Southampton. I've never been and unfortunately may not have the chance to visit before starting (international) , so I've been doing a lot of searching and research on the city and what it's like to be there. I hear a lot of mixed things, from "I love it" to "best thing to do is leave" and honestly it's a bit hard to tell what's an honest evaluation and what's the more typical sort of complaining about where you live that seems to transfer regardless of location (if that makes sense). My other PhD offer is in a bigger city and it seems that everyone around me thinks I'd be crazy to pick Southampton over that place, but the kind of research I want to do and network I'd want to build is heavily centered there.

For context, I'm 21F, no real interest in partying (although I do enjoy a nice relaxed drink at a bar or day out), and I'd be aiming to move in to a small 1-bed or studio flat with my partner. I'd be especially interested in experiences from women, international students/immigrants, advice on job market (for my boyfriend, also recent masters grad who isn't picky), or really anything you have to share about day-to-day life in soton. Thank you.

Sitting watching wrestlemania and they're showing watch parties around the world and up pops 'Southampton, UK'. Hope it's good atmosphere down there (despite it being a pretty average wrestlemania).
