r/SonsOfTheForest

My favorite build so far.
I’ve built a ton of bases this is by far my favorite so far.
I never saw Creepy Virginia and Legsy
I played before but now im played it to 65 days but there is no Armsy or virginia even though they are in game what is the condition required them to spawn (Edit: I meant Armsy at the post)
I'm done with this game
I'm done with this game.
Started my save on hard survival, parried my way through mutants and cannibals, really satisfying combat. Explored every bunker/cave and finished the game around day 25-30 while still sleeping in a tarp.
This is the way I would start a new save in The Forest. Getting everything, finishing the game, and starting to take over the island.
I was like, I'm going to make a 3 floor 6 by 5 raid base and cover the surroundings with traps. Then make a main base somewhere else, a storage base, a fishing hut, trying different designs. This was my plan until I was done with the raid base. Not even completing the traps, just finishing the raid base took all the joy I had. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. Kelvin would get stuck inside because his pathfinding could not see the stairs, so I had to change it. I had to demolish half the house to do that and before that, the roof design I wanted to do was not possible, so I had to make something else. After all that work I still had to do the traps and live with an ugly base.
I've paid 15 dollars for the game and played it for 70 hours, I've had a blast with it until I started building, so I've got my money's worth. Still, it's not going to be like The Forest where I played for over 1000+ hours across years. Won't be touching this pile of shit again.
People who loved The Forest, what do you think about Sons of the Forest?
End night, why does the game have the same bugs The Forest has, are you guys lazy or incompetent? Did The Forest not sell millions? Why did you hire the cheapest voice actors you could find on Fiverr for a couple lines of dialogue? What's with the animations?
i was hoping for some tips from some of the diehards specifically from the sequel that will give me a little boost here and there throughout my play through, nothing crazy, but little tricks that will make me say “damn, thank you random redditor”
i have 150ish hours in the first forest so i have good base knowledge of the “the forest”, the sequel has just been on a long awaited bucket list of mine.
(just in case someone says “just explore it on your own!”, i will here and there, but i know what im asking for, this will make it more fun for me haha.)
Multiple Arrow Bug
Guys i guess i found a new bug! If you pick up the bow and either spam it or half-hold it (I'm not sure which) and then fully draw and shoot the arrow it fires multiple arrows. Maybe it's just a bug in my game.(It can be more than 2 but i couldnt do it on camera)
I lost a bunch of progress on what I think is a bug, what do y'all think?
Any differences/benefits between these two wall placements?
One with the vertical support logs, one without. Just curious if it changed integrity, building opportunities, etc.
Weird machine underground sound?
What is this weird machinery sound underground in my base? I searched everywhere online for answers but nothing.. maybe its a bug? Its been days tho.
is it possible to connect the corner of my roof without changing the roof design?
Google Gemini has played Sons of the Forest
Was exploring some ideas for my game and accidentally (or not?) Gemini created this.
PS: Mods please allow as the intention is not to post an AI generated image but rather to show how AI accidentally created something beautiful and it reminded me of SOTF
Any way to keep Virginia close by?
Title.
I've always struggled with this game, get carried away with base building and don't do enough cave diving or exploring..
Well, I'm really giving it my all this go. Found out you can give Virginia the guns and she has unlimited ammo, and she's been AMAZING for helping with defense with the pistol so far..
The only issue is, she's gone like 60%-70% of the time. I swear she's almost always gone when I get attacked, and only reappears AFTER the danger is gone and the conflict has ended. Is there any reliable way to get her to stay at camp, or close to the player??
Bonus question: Is there any method for building a base entry that is ideal for her and Kelvin's pathfinding? They seem to get caught up on the walls of my base ALL the time, the pathfinding in this game seems truly awful..
Thank you for your advice!!
How do i build a ramp here with the starting cabin so I dont have to jump to get in every time?
I'm also not sure if there is supposed to be two of them
Some of my favourite screenshots from our recent playthrough of SOTF
I thought I'd share some funny moments from my friends and I's recent playthrough of Sons of the Forest. This game can be inadvertently hilarious at times.
