![№ 1309 ✍️ 🐧 measuring tape [part 1189] penguin drawing sketch](https://preview.redd.it/5jyz65kgu1tg1.jpeg?auto=webp&s=349abdb0c4ba59ebea3fafd660e1baee1a0d36d7)

Started sketching as a new hobby a couple days ago. I notice drawing construction lines and shape doesn’t help and could make it even worse. I typically use a reference photo, draw, erase, draw, erase, draw, erase, and repeat. Can my skills improve this way? Or am I going to remain stagnant using this method?
Also, any tips on how to make my sketches even more realistic? Do I learn shading/smearing and other techniques, or do I focus on drawing proportionally and consistently first?

Method: Pointillism
Weapons: Uni Pin felt tip pen in 0.1 and 0.3, Pencil
Total hours killed: 10 hours

Estoy en proceso del Inktober -personal- para retomar el hábito de dibujo, pero me está costando mucho trabajo darle un espacio :((
