do people still shop at watsons for cosmetics?

curious where do the younger crowd go to when they want to get make up products. saw watsons carrying new brands but realised that their crowd is quite old compared to other drugstores like guardian and welcia. what are your thoughts?

Did I waste my money or was there an improvement in my face?

Have been consistently going for my facial since December 2023. Went because I wanted to get my acne fixed due to a damaged skin barrier. Used to have clear skin with break outs every now and then.

Read somewhere that retinol helps with these break out so I started on it. I didn’t know how to use retinol previously so I used to apply it thrice a week. My face broke out like crazy at first but i thought it was purging and that it was normal. However, the more I applied, the worse it became. It was to the point where my acnes became so much and I felt less and less confident to go out. Decided to start on facial when I started earning money. Went to IVI aesthetics and they told me I could start with medi facial. Signed up for their plans.

Unfortunately, I feel like my face became terribly indented since my first session. I never had indentations before. Only had them after going for my facial. I feel like I’ve been robbed of my money. Went for 2 years, but I just feel like my face got more and more indented. I’ve complained to them before and their branch manager said they will solve it. “Solved” it by asking me to go for DPL so I had to top up.

I’ve told them I wanted to stop some time in the middle. Branch manager called Landy gave me a dirty look and said “how can a lady not go for facial?”. It made me cry so I said ok. Recently said again I wanted to stop again. Came up with some excuse and I’m finally finishing my package.

What do you all think? Based on the picture, do you think my face really got worse over the years, or was it bound to happen? Would really appreciate any help about how I can improve my skin as well. Haven’t heard about any successful acne indentation cases thus far. Heard about picolaser/fractional co2/microneedling. Tried to find before after pictures but no luck thus far. Most before after cases are just acne scars not indentations..

Does wearing makeup at work matter?

Hello! I like to hear anyone's thoughts on makeup at work in SG.

I've never felt inclined to wear makeup before but there are people telling me I need to get started or else I would be viewed negatively in the workplace.

Is this true and how badly would it affect me?

Also I would see people comment negatively on women without makeup online like Ho Ching and Jane Yumiko, so it does suggest makeup matters to an extent in SG?

EDIT: Hello! This post is really blowing up and I like to say thank you again for everyone's inputs though I think it's getting a bit hard to keep up so please assume my gratitude for any future comments that come, it's been a very insightful comment section! 😊

Where to buy quality female workwear that doesn’t break the bank?

Taobao/SG local/international brands are all accepted! Just feel like most fabrics I feel and try on in stores are made out of polyester and don’t feel good on the skin yet really expensive…

Please recommend me a good deodorant for women

So I have been using the Nivea one (which I bought in Valu$ if I remember correctly) but I feel like it's not working properly. I never had any issue with the deodorant I used back in my country even though i sweat a lot more back then but that brand doesn't seem to be available here and I have no idea which one I should choose. Also, is the quality of these kind of products (deodorant, body wash, razors, etc) okay in Venus Beauty? It's more affordable there

Has anyone tried the Chanel Fresh Tint Foundation?

Been hearing a lot of good reviews but the reviewers are mostly from the US. Has anyone tried this in SG weather, and does it last throughout the day? My skin is on the drier side, so normal foundations usually cake up or become patchy after a while.

The ball ball in the bottle looks very cool too hahahaha

what skincare topics are you most curious about?

Hi everyone!
I’ve been working with Korean skincare companies for the past few years, and I’m thinking about starting to create beauty/skincare content and sharing some of the things I’ve learned along the way.
Before I do that, I wanted to ask this community directly what are the skincare topics you actually care about?
Are there any questions, concerns, myths, ingredients, trends, product categories, or K-beauty topics that you feel aren’t explained well enough?

Thanks in advance! 😊

Skin Tag Removal (minor op) recommendations?

I need a skin tag on the back of my neck removed, it’s not very tiny so I’m guessing may be a minor surgery. Any decent and affordable recommendations for this? Thank you!

Anyone knows Korean Dermatologist Yu Dongkee?

He is said to be the doctor for the president (not sure which one) of Korea for quite some years. He has a very impressive record. Is he a big name also in Singapore?

I’m going to his clinic next week. Already made the reservation, and just want some insider views to see if he is the right one to go to in Korea for anti-aging.

His clinic looks gorgeous on IG btw.

Thank you so much in advance!

If your skin became more sensitive with age did you switch from actives like retinol to peptides or PDRN? How did it go?

Curious what everyone else’s experience has been. Is PDRN actually worth the hype?

Hyperpigmentation treatments

Hi there! Checking if anyone has successfully got rid of their hyperpigmentation and what are the treatments that aided that? I’ve tried helios and yellow lasers once. Am currently in the midst of trying pico lasers. The doctor also recommended me juvelook or sylfirm x but I’m a little unsure about those treatments.

Thank you!
