Mirror Signpainting Tipps Tricks

Hello dear painters,

I just tried my First mirror sign. I wanted to have a german word "keep gschmeidig" on it. So its a nice saying in germany and means Like keep calm .

Now i had the letters printed out and made some dots through it with a that tool u use for i dont know how its called, its a round dot circle. After that u can clapped with some blue chalk over it. Maybe with plotting is a better way to get it on the surface.

After that i had to put on the glue milk for the gold leafs. I Really love to learn that skill but its pretty hard to get them on the mirror ... i Really had Problems that not all lines i wanted with it filled out correctly. There were some little spaces and i dont know what i did wrong here. So i just put second layer and tried to fix it.

I Really like this one Shot colours omg their amazing :3
And i also painted a outline for the letters because something missed in This writing.

So as i am like a beginner i need ure feedback what can i do better? Any tipps, or tipps ?

Keep gschmeidig and lovely day😘😎

Struggling for clients

Does anyone have any advice on how to get clients for murals/window mural jobs? I have tried everything i can think of. Ive emailed businesses, DM on insta and FB, and even handed out flyers to some. Is there something else I can be doing? I seem to be getting no new clients from it.

(This type of sign; photo above is random example from the Internet)

Hi all! I’m in talks with a potential client who has 2 old light box signs they want to replace—ideally by just taking out the front panel and replacing with their own signs. These are your standard strip mall kind of box signs.

My question is: What is the feasibility of replacing these with a hand-painted acrylic/plexi panel? Has anyone done such a thing? If yes, what are some specific technical aspects re: light/substrate/paint to consider?

OR, is this something I should not even consider? (They have other signage needs too). Thanks for any insight!

For pinstriping paint. Lettering enamel.
Looking for high temp reducer. Leave me a bigger window to use it.
Think I am going to use it only for practice.
Any recommendations?
Will it fade quicker or lose gloss quicker than if I use reducer?
Thank you.

So I’m doing a reverse glass sign (not a commission) I started with the black outline for the letter than the green background. When came to gild the letters after the first gild I started to notice the of color of the green which is leading me to think the water got trapped from the gild and is eating the paint? Should I pop it and re paint or leave as is? My worry is that the water is trapped in there and will continue to erode ! All feed back welcome

My dad was an artist for 40 years. He did vinyl, caricatures, drawing and painting windows. "The sign Guy",as he called himself.

when i lived with him.for a short while he took me to some of his window jobs (bars, restraunts)

Exterior Flat Pain Brands is what he said to buy.

Im wondering how I can get started and make my first customer. He showed me his work so I can try and I want to try.
