I’m the proud owner of a 2024 Yamaha MT10. It does everything right, but for some reason, I have a hankering for a Suzuki SV1000. I don’t know if it’s the more analogue feel, throbbing vtwin exhaust or what… I am about to do the decat on my bike to really wake up the sound of the CP4… but I have the SV on my mind. Am I crazy?
Practiced cornering with my friend today (fireblade). Very fun. I’ve dragged knee on it before and felt all proud, until I saw a guy on TikTok drag elbow on an sv650… Never even think that was possible😅
Bought this bike with the intention of having something more than my first Harley sportster, later realizing I’m not a huge fan of the back pain and seat comfort on semi long trips (1 hour to 2 hours) I’ve been using it to commute to work but I’m trying to sell it and I just wanna see what your opinions are about what’s a fair price to list it
Below is everything I’ve done since I bought the bike with about 14500 ~ miles
2008 Suzuki Sv650s Clean title 16330miles
Front and rear tires
Carbon fiber lower fairings(original ones were cracked so I DIYed my own)
Front fork service
Brake fluid service (front and rear)
Front brake fluid reservoir
Steel braided brake lines(front and rear)
Magnetic oil drain plug
LED bulbs in headlight
Fuel pump
Radiator flush
Quad lock fork stem mount Pro
Quad lock vibration dampener
Quad lock wireless MAG charger
Reupholstered front and rear seats
Regular maintenance
Oil primary
Chain cleaning
I tried buying all the little things the bike was missing to make it more complete but I decided to stop when the frame faring covers were 80$ a piece lol
Hi everyone!
This is my brand new sv650. Picked it up for 6790 eur. It is my 4th bike, after a gs500, duke 390, and an er6n.
I wanted a characterful, reliable and affordable middleweight naked, and the sv just ticked all boxes.
I did 500 km on the bike, and here are my pros and cons:
+
The engine is a peach.
Very stable when cornering, compared to my previous bikes.
Price. Even the RE 650 was more expensive.
-
Seat: it is hard and pushes you towards the tank. It will take it to a shop to put gel inserts and make it a bit flatter.
Front brake: softer than the er6’s brake. In the future i will upgrade the brake lines, for more feel.
What are your opinions on the bike, and what mods are most common?
Hello fellow riders. Here's a picture of my recently bought Gladius. Been riding for only about 3 weeks but I have to say it's a perfect bike for a beginner. I love the look and sound of it but I have this condition where I must modify any vehicle I own. Any mod and/or aftermarket exhaust recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Preferably EU suppliers/shops. I have already had ChatGPT do some imaginative work for me and I must say it is a dream build if I've ever seen one. Stock and AI images linked, thanks gang!
2013 SFV650 Gladius 55k miles on her. Starts right up and idles well. Just did an oil change and coolant flush and saw one of the radiator hoses leaks. And the radiator fan doesn't turn on. Anything else I should look into? Newer rider. Any and all advice is welcome! 😁

Saw this today and thought of this subreddit immediately. The sv is a great bike with little room for improvement. They finally made a parallel twin using the engine from the vstrom800 and put it on a street bike with upside down forks. It only took 20 years of asking and Ducati holding exclusive on this twin segment during that time. Finally a monster killer. Whatcha guys think?
Just picked up my first 07 sv. Was sitting in a crate for the last 16 years. Only 2000 km on the clock!!! Not a single scratch on it.
Okay, so I just finished rebuilding a suzuki Sv650 2005 from parts, and I'm not sure if it sounds right. What do you think?
Been thinking about this unit for months and finally visited it last week. My main gripe is in the cockpit view, where you can see the front fairing being slanted relative to the tank's lines. The seller's excuse is that the people who performed preventive maintenance did not reinstall the front fairing properly. I did not get to check if the steering locks at the same angle. Would this be a bracket installation issue? The front fairing looks spotless. It has no chudder, but still needs the magnet reglue. The engine is healthy, will definitely replace all liquids if I decide to purchase. The slant front fairing is just grr
My 2018 sv650 has a little under 10k miles and on the freeway no matter what I try it feels super unstable and I'm constantly weaving around. It's difficult to go faster than 70 cause how unstable it feels. I thought it was my front tire cause it was cupped but I just replaced it and it's still about the same. Any ideas on what it could be? I was thinking maybe head bearing loose? Thanks!
