S24U OneUI 8.5 Beta2 Quick Review
Animations are much snappier throughout the UI compared to the Beta1 build.
Lockscreen dynamic weather effects are live and working well.
The device shows as certified in the Play Store.
There are no issues with banking apps.
Battery backup is much improved from One UI 8 Stable. Battery Saver is also more efficient, and standby battery drain has been reduced.
A 24MP option is available in RAW capture mode.
Dual Capture has been removed (I hope it gets included in Stable 8.5).
Quick Share with Apple devices is also working now.
Conclusion: Can be used as a daily driver.

Circle to search defaulting to AI mode now?
Is there a way to disable this bullshit? I've used my long press home as my Google search since I got the phone. It was super annoying when they decided to automatically add the screen as an image search, adding an extra button press. but now I have to long press, delete the image, search, then switch to All to get a normal search? Is there a way to disable this?

Google Messages Issues
All day today, my Google Messages has been Slow, Freezing up, getting stuck on a white screen and either not sending my messages or sending them twice.
As a result my phone has been hot all day, won't charge past 10% and Google Messages went from 10GB Data to 167GB in one day.
And, it keeps going up 5-20GB every hour. My 512GB is almost full from just this.
What can I do, what is causing this and how do I stop it and get it back down without losing all of my text messages?
I tried smartswitching just the Messages to another phone, where it says its over 100GB of just messages still. This insane and I do not know what to do.

Improved Battery Life
i used to only have 3 hours of SOT after the February update but after disabling adaptive battery and deleting all of my Good Lock apps (except Sound Assistant), my SOT for the past 5 days has been 6 to 8 hours. My display settings is set to FHD, 120Hz Adaptive and Vivid Display.
My Wonderland depth effect wallpaper definitely drained a lot of my battery.

Anyone facing Google Play / Reddit update issue after Feb patch?
Hey,
I’m using Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and facing a weird issue recently.
Every time I open Reddit, I used to get that normal “update app from Play Store” page if an update was available.
But now, instead of that, I’m getting a message asking me to restart Google Play Store / Google Play app.
I think this started after the February security patch.
My current setup:
Google Play system update: Feb 1, 2026
Haven’t installed March update yet
👉 Is anyone else facing this?
👉 Is this a bug with Play Store or Reddit app?
👉 Will updating to March patch fix this?
Any help or similar experiences would be appreciated 🙏

S Pen as a move mouse
Is there a way to use the spen as a hover mouse, you would use the dot for air view and press the side button and it would simulate a finger press.

8.5 beta April 5, 2026. can send files from latest s24u beta no problem. Sending from photos on 26.4 IOS on iPhone 16 pro says it sent a picture, but the s24u beta recieves it but it is just a generic icon. Thoughts?
