Can't delete programs from "Continue Watching" row.

Up until about two weeks ago, I was able to delete programs from my continue watching row by clicking edit button near the row, mark the ones I wanted gone, and get them removed. Now, on top of the removal procedure being like Tubi, I have two programs that are glitched to where they have the wrong tiles on them, and they will not allow me to touch them at all. I've tried doing a reboot and a full disconnect but they are still there. I have a Roku Ultra, and its only 2 years old. Any help would be appreciated, since contacting a real customer support person is a joke.

Screen goes black only when streaming, across multiple apps.

I have a Roku streaming stick plugged in to a TCL frame Tv. I have had this setup for about 6 months with no issues. But now when I try to play certain videos (but not all), the screen goes black. I am able to see all other app user interface and thumbnails. It’s only when I am actually attempting to watch certain videos. I can still hear the audio playing. This is happening across multiple apps (Amazon Prime, Netflix). Anybody else having this issue? Know a fix?

4850X Ultra - Software Update Broke HDMI CEC

Roku Ultra 4850X

OS 15.2 / Build 4.3421-G6

Updated: 4/14/26

So this is a 2-part post admittedly (I'll get to part 2 in a second)... one part is, has anyone else seen this issue and/or having this or other issues since the latest update?

Part 1 (issue):

My issue ever since the update: I use a Logitech Harmony Ultra+Hub that for watching my Roku controls my devices on/off, and then we just use the stock Roku Ultra remote from there to control it, including volume (via CEC to my receiver). This setup has worked flawlessly for years, through many Roku Ultra versions, including the 4850X I'm using today since it was released a couple years ago. Also I would like to mention I don't have the auto-power off setting enabled, I never have... when my equipment turns on, the Roku is on the fish tank screensaver ready to go. That is, until this latest update...

Now when it all powers on, the Roku is clearly sleeping/hibernating/powered off. I have to press a button to "wake" it up, at which point it does a quick boot (not the Roku power on logo screen, but boots the home screen and it takes a couple seconds to do so and populate my apps). That's all fine and good... I actually don't mind that. But what I have noticed is that volume (via CEC) is broken and requires me to reboot the Roku for the HDMI CEC handshake to be re-established.

Before I reached out to support, I pulled power completely from the wall on all devices in my loop (Roku - Receiver - TV), reseated both ends of every HDMI cable, and looked at software versions and update dates/history of the TV and receiver. After verifying nothing else has changed recently (hardware and software), the only variable in the mix is the Roku software update that occured on 4/14/26.

The power setting in the Roku itself is now somehow hard coded as I can't do anything except tell it to shut off after 20min, but that sends a poweroff command to all of my equipment, so I don't like that left on, I just leave it so the Roku is (at least from what I can tell), "always on". Since the update, I have to press a button on the Roku remote to "wake" it up. But again, when it does wake, volume to my receiver is broken and I have to immediately go into the power settings on the Roku and tell it to reboot. Then it works after booting back up, until next time. I've tried reseating, power cycling everything, validating all settings, even a factory reset on the Roku itself and setting it all back up. This clearly seems to be some sort of power management + HDMI CEC handling issue... but I can't 'stop' or control that behavior, I'm just stuck with it.

Anyone else notice this or other behavior? Anything I'm missing here?

Part 2 (Roku support rant):

I've reached out to Roku support 3 times now... I've spent over an hour each time with them. They are offshore support which is fine, they are friendly which is great, but they are not doing anything to either direct me to a "report a bug" form/reporting tool, or really help beyond taking me through basic troubleshooting steps all of the way up to and through a factory reset. That is all fine except the bug reporting piece... perhaps there is something going on behind the scenes but I don't know that there is... and that brings me to the rant piece.

It seems as though I'm speaking with someone offshore that is taking me through the script of troubleshooting steps. Once it gets to the point of needing "advanced help", they "transfer me" to an advanced support specialist for further help. It is VERY VERY obvious that this is just an AI chatbot. That's all it is... very clearly. The way it responds, the fake empathy, the acknowledgement of details they got wrong and what it says when it corrects it, is all very clearly an AI chatbot.

After the third time being dumped off onto a chatbot, I realized... there is no Roku support anymore for things like this, at least from what I can tell... is there a better way to deal with this that anyone else has found? I haven't tried any other form of support other than chat... perhaps there's a better way? Their site kind of pushes you to it but I haven't tried anything else. Has anyone had any better luck by chance?

Pioneer 50" Class LED 4k UHD super grainy

Somewhat visible in this pic, if you focus on the curtains especially or the hair. The picture settings are surprisingly limited so I don't know why it's happening or how to fix it. Picture settings are limited to picture size, brightness, power mode, and in the expert settings, contrast, gamma correction (?), noise reduction, temperature, and color space (?).

remote is “paired” but not paired

i’m guessing it’s probably because the system is old and i’m prepared for the worst, (having to buy a new one), but my remote will not for the life of it stay connected. BUT the power and volume still work just not literally any other part of the remote. it’ll stay connected for maybe 3 minutes and then refuse to do anything. can’t get the app to connect because the remote won’t stay synced long enough to connect to wifi after a reset. send help plz

I wish there was a way to make dark scenes pitch black

Not pitch black as I want and from what I’ve researched and tried there’s really no way to resolve this.

Roku Launches New ‘City Dash’ Game

You can access it from the screensaver or by searching for it and downloading it on your Roku. I just tried it. It’s a game that plays like Flappy Bird. It’s charming enough with the Roku City theme.

What Codecs does Roku Ultra support after all the updates?

Is it time to move to a new player for stand-alone files that I want to play from a USB-Drive, not streaming.

An odd problem with multiple devices and auto play

This is such a niche problem, I'm not sure there's an answer for it but here goes.

The devices involved: Roku Stream Bar, Roku TV, Roku streaming stick.

The Stream Bar and tv are set up together in my living room. The streaming stick I gave to my mom some time ago, before owning the Stream Bar. The TV is a recent addition, the Stream Bar I've had for several years. I kept the Stream Bar because the audio is better than the TV speakers.

I've been having a problem where when I turn on my Roku TV, about 50% of the time it automatically tries to switch over to the Stream Bar. Even if I cancel the action, the Stream Bar starts playing the audio from whatever show my mom last watched on the Roku Channel. Even if she's not even using it at the moment. It won't stop unless I power off my TV.

These two devices have never been connected in any way, and my mom lives about 25 km (15.5 miles) away. It is still connected to my account. I have combed through the settings and I can't seem to find an option that would stop this.

Any suggestions?

How do I even fix this?

My Roku Tv is acting very weird and I feel like I’m in a creepypasta. Starting last night, it froze on a youtube video screen and slowly turned reddish black while the video’s audio still played. I tried doing the home x5 up x1 rewind x2 and forward x2 reset. This worked, but then the reset screen started going black, got bright/normal again, and then went fully black. Audio can still be heard- if I click the Netflix button, you can hear the preview to a show, but it’s still stuck on the black screen/reset screen. Every time I do the reset, it does the exact same thing: screen starts getting darker, gets bright again, and then goes fully dark, while audio keeps playing. I’ve had no luck finding any help for this online. I don’t think it’s a lighting issue because it clearly is able to get bright. How on earth do I fix this? Video attached showing what happens when I reset.

Looking for a remote app that has a number pad not just directional arrows

I use my TV for live sports a lot and flipping through channels with up/down is killing me. I want to type 208 directly.

Most of these remote apps only show volume, power, and a D pad. No numbers. Is there one that has a full number row? I have a TCL Roku TV but I'm not using the Roku app because that also has no number pad.

Android only please. Don't mind paying a few bucks.

I have a Roku stick; is there a way I can connect it to the web and a bluetooth gaming remote to it to play emulated retrogames?

I know there are web browsers but none of them are free. I do not know if a ROKU and something like a bluetooth NES controller (for instance) can communicate.

Does the Roku home page have lots of recommendations & sponsored tiles?

I have been using the Amazon fire TV stick for years now, and the last one we've gotten has littered the home page with rows of sponsored shows & suggestions that I have to click through, just to get to the programs I usually watch. Enough to make me return it and try Roku. I am wondering if this is simply a trend in all the smart TVs now. Does the Roku 4K home screen have rows of suggested apps & programs also?

what's better - guest mode or pin-locking purchases?

hi there ! :))

about to go on a family trip and while the family we're letting housesit is mostly trustworthy, last time someone unfortunately started a lot of free trials and rented lots of movies which racked up to be very pricey and we'd rather not risk anything like that again

i'm not too sure about how guest mode works with our current subscriptions (netflix / prime primarily) and one of the people we're having housesit mainly if not only uses the live tv / roku channel whenever shes over, which i'm uncertain if guest mode supports?

i've tried convincing my mom to just remove her card (which would definitely be the better option here 😭) but she's very stubborn about it

for this kind of situation, would you say it's better to go with guest mode anyways even if it limits some things? or should we keep using the pin?
