SNES Classic will not get past any instruction prompts.

So basicly, I hacked my snes classic some years ago (please dont ask, I do not remember when or what version I used.) I installed 3 games, and from what I see retroarch 1.6.0? (its really late when im writing this) and when I try to add more games, or install any new cores, basicly anything that requires the whole schpeal of unplugging the console, it doesnt work. someone please help.
1)I dont have the oem cable, dont insist please
2)My usb ports are 2.0
3)ive also tried older versions of hakchi (1.2.1 to be exact)
4) please help. I just want to play gba games on my snes classic.

Here's a link to a guide I have put together based on some very neat tools by "SpannerNick" & others that will explain/ show you how to flash a kernel or firmware to your A500 Mini... 😊

Main reason for wanting (needing) to do this was the absurd decision made by "Retro Games Ltd" who decided in ALL of their "firmware updates" to remove/ disable the "Root Access" to the console, which broke things like "RetroAami" and early versions of "Pandory" from running without having to re-write everything and jump through hoops to do so...

The guide will explain and show you how to restore that "Root Access" to ANY firmware updated console...

It will enable you to choose which version of the firmware YOU decide to have and still be able to if you choose use any "Official firmware update" on the console...

It opens up the ability to easily make backups of your consoles kernel/ firmware, to modify or change things in the kernel/ firmware such as for example updating the list of controllers the console can handle or whatever other ideas/ changes you might like to tinker with and try or indeed simply restore ANY version of the kernel/ firmware you choose from version 1.0.0 to 1.2.1...

The guide itself is split into 5 parts and while it might seem quite lengthy then rest assured the first 4 sections deal with the hardware and software set up that is required, which once done will allow you to easily "mod" the console with just a few clicks of the mouse and some "terminal" commands... 😉

So for anyone interested then here's the link to the guide that will enable you to NOT be restricted by the absurd limitations the "Official firmware updates" place on your console and leaves it open to be completely modded by anyone comfortable enough with some knowledge of "Linux" to do so or simply be able as said to flash any kernel/ firmware you choose and NOT be restricted as the "Official" updates do...

https://amigaminimods.forumotion.com/f7-guide-how-to-flash-the-kernel-firmware-to-the-a500-mini

Note: the guide requires you to be using "Windows 10" either on a Windows computer or via `Windows emulation as I do on my iMacs...

Anyone know where I can find a romhack of Moonwalker that adds thriller back into the game? Trying to add it to my Genesis mini and I need to know if it will work!

My hackchi hacked SNES mini has been working quite well for a long time. It is set up via the USB method.

I don't have many games on it (maybe 60, will check again), subfolders alphabetically. Save games worked until now, only maybe 6 active right now. I have set Snes9x 2010, not sure if for all games.

I have been on a Mario All Stars playthrough with SMB3 teying to beat every level.

Save game worked using the default by SNES mini, not the "cartridge saving". Yesterday I had quite progress but after returning to main menu to save it took time.

All the games were still there but no artwork (except Starfox 2 locked) and no saving possible. First C4 error when teying to save then C3 error.

I restarted the console. The previous game saves were there. I erased two save states from another game. Entering SMB3 save and saving worked. But afraid I'll be playing along again (those damn hard levels) and getting that issue again.

My questions:

1.) What causes this issue? I have plenty of space available on the USB? How many save states can I have? Is SMB3 a big game save? How can I avoid future issues without needing to reset the whole setup?

2.) Is an alternative to save via ingame saving (wgen available like with All Stars?)

3.) I know there is a retroarch menu with save state options (how can I open it as Start and select opens the ingame saving?) and does saving via Retroarch makes more sense than the default save states?
