Competent Discussion about Patch Notes?

Competent Discussion about Patch Notes?

I think on the main subs everyone just complains no matter what about everything

They say the patch notes are bad no matter what

Here is what I think:

- They should have let Tankpool be S tier for a little longer

-Phoenix ult is now borderline useless for securing 1 pick on 250 targets, its a hard nerf, she is gonna be a better hela now

-star lord didn't need a buff

-fantastic damage for CC might be interesting, he might be able to make an larger impact

-This is my opinion but DD is a necessary evil

-rocket has been weak for so long I wonder if this will make a change

-Fox form healing output was broken good nerf

-gambit needs a ult revamp

-black cat staying the same is dangerous

-fist might eat this season, I despise his block

-questionable mantis nerfs, legit targeting triple support Ultron which probably has an insane WR but ruins her baseline

What you guys think?

Okay patch notes tho

Finally made it to gold this week for the first time

I’ve been playing this game since day one. I haven’t put THAT many hours into it, due to my schedule being busy here and there, and I’ve taken breaks for a while now. I stopped playing since February and came back a few days ago to hit up ranked. I’ve been struggling to solo queue for the most part, and there were certain days that made me wanna give up ranked because of the EOMM. However, I’ve stayed resilient and continued to play my game and locked in. And here I am now. First time making it to Gold III, though this was mostly for the skins.

Ain’t touching Platinum for now since the higher ranks have some egos (not all, with all due respect), but I’m fine reaching Gold for the moment being.

Best way to learn new characters? Other game modes?

I’m a returning player from the Deadpool season, and looking to pickup new heroes to make the gameplay refreshing. Normally, I would spend hours in the practice room to get used to mechanics which I would then jump to AI games after. Once I feel comfortable with the character, I would then hop on Quick Play to play with real people.

HOWEVER, every single time I hop on Quick Play I would be placed in Celestial and GM lobbies. Most of the time I end up having to switch to characters I already know how to play which defeats the purpose of me trying new ones.

Should I make a new account for new characters or is that still smurfing?

Am I better off playing Comp as I’m at least facing players in my rank as opposed to GMs in Quick Play?

season ending has been fun

How is the season ending treating y'all? for me it's been amazing. Couple of games where we almost gave up but we kept trying and still came out with a W. shoutout to every one of my teammates who used comms and had good vibes. HIT CELESTIAL 1 FOR THE FIRST TIME AS WELL. SOLO Q

Solo q’d to Eternity, former rank 1 Luna on Xbox and flex main.

I can give tips if anyone would like. Hit eternity for the first time in season 6.5, placement put me at top 150 at the start of season 7. Mostly played supp but I flex.

Was playing with an invis yesterday against a star lord. I asked her to hold her ult for him. We made it all the way to 2nd point on Central Park without either one of them using ult, until our invis randomly popped in the middle of the fight because, “I felt like I was wasting it”. Lo and behold the star lord wipes half the team immediately after. Our invis says, “Wow, it’s like he was waiting for me”

Yes. That’s exactly what happened. The star lord knows his ult is useless against an invis ult, so a smart star lord will wait until she pops, or is dead. Their Bucky was countered by our CnD, & no one else on the enemy team posted a kill threat with their ult.

So, by holding the invis ult, you essentially nullify the starlord ult.

AMA. I’ve been playing since Season 0. I’ve mostly been a quick play warrior, only doing enough ranked to reach Celestial before stopping. This season, I decided to seriously push for Eternity. I started to fill what my team needed between C2 and C1, with tank as my most played role.

When can you switch off support?

There are a lot of games where I start as a support and we run double support, and the game is not going our way, and I feel like if I switch to someone like Namor that could change the tide of the fight, but then we would only be left with one support. So I feel stuck playing support. Should I feel comfortable switching roles whenever or should I try to get another teammate to switch to a hero that would better help our comp or get them to switch to support so I can go Namor?

What encourages you to learn/main a character most?

Their comics? Their appearance in movies? Their kit/play style? How they play in the meta? Their costumes or skins?

What is it that makes you most interested when picking a new character to learn/main?

For me its a combination of cosmetics/kit, but when I first started it was based off favoritism of their appearance in comics/movies

butttt I learned that I don't always "click" well with some of them or not like their kit/play style

So I have an interesting question for all of the marvel rivals players here:

What is one tip that took you WAY too long to realize about the game?

Rank up math

Can someone explain the elo math to me?

In this half season, I have exactly a 50% win rate. And over the course of the season I have gained exactly 6 points for 96 games played.

I understand that the math is based on my stats, but which stats??? Is it only healing per minute? Or does KDA factor into it?

Also, I keep seeing people say that you can rank up with a 48% win rate. What character is that on? Cuz I wanna swap.

Edit: thank you for the good info about elo. Seems like we don't know the exact stats that are being used.

And to everyone who told me to lol git gud- ya moms a ho. I already am good. I just want to be compensated fairly for being good.

With a 50% w/r I should be able to maintain my percentile. So if I'm in the top 10% of players, I should stay in the top 10% with a 50% w/r , right?

The system isn't doing that.

Finally back where I belong

Haven’t had the time to grind back to my peak ranks since season 2. Fully solo queue. Feels good. All I needed was a wee Panther buff 😅

My biggest take away for solo queue:

  1. REMAIN POSITIVE AT ALL TIMES!
The amount of games I had to literally WILL my team to the win over the last 2 seasons was a lot. People lose one team fight and instantly want to surrender. NEVER SURRENDER (unless you have a teammate dc ) I have had some incredible comeback games just by staying positive and hyping up my teammates. Being negative doesn’t help anyone

  2. BE A LEADER In Solo Que, someone needs to be the leader. If no one is comming and the game feels winnable, get in voice chat and let your team know the best way to move forward. So many players are literally begging for direction and someone to help them coordinate with their team. Even one person on comms uniting the team helps tremendously. And again STAY positive

  3. RELAX. I find when I stresss about winning or losing I lose way more . If I go in and tell myself “It’s a game, have fun, focus on what I’m doing in my role” it helps so much . A tilted brain makes bad decisions. Go feeling ok with the thought of losing and focus on having fun but also playing g well yourself, and you will win more games. Also sometimes match making is not on your side. If you lose 2-3 in a row STOP and take a break.
