Some former friends of mine, fraternity brothers, etc are partners at major firms, counsel at big corporations. I’m too embarrassed to even talk to them as I’d likely have to reveal what a failure I am.

I've been trying to understand how law firms actually handle archiving text messages from clients in a proper way.
Emails are straightforward since everything gets stored automatically, but texts feel a bit more messy. I'm curious how firms keep those organized or retrievable if needed later.
Do most firms rely on manual screenshots, or is there usually a systems in place for this?
Last three I have been "confirmed" to start on never happened at all. On this last one I was a real dummy and did not apply for another one while waiting for it to start because they sounded so confident it would. I know it happens sometimes and there is nothing that can be done, but three in a row seems excessive.
