hey everyone! I’ve only lived in Redding for two years and I’ve noticed the influx of businesses opening and closing, and lots of empty buildings. In the last month, I’ve seen three places close. I feel like this is a crazy phenomenon of businesses opening and closing here; I have never lived anywhere where this happens so frequently. Does anyone have any insight into why this happens here in Redding specifically? I’m sure the economy plays a major part, but like I said, the frequency of businesses closing is alarming.

Was wondering if anyone has attended the program / knows someone who has and can provide any insight into the quality of the program? I know it isn't a CACREP program, but is accredited with the BBS in California to lead to both LMFT and LPCC licensure. I don't personally come from a Christian background, so it being a Christian university was also a bit of a concern for me, though I'm open to learning how to incorporate faith into treatment for clients who are religious. It is a "dual-cohort" model with classes twice a week. You take two classes at a time for 7 weeks, with every eighth week off and do that basically year round for the whole two years, starting practicum in your second year.

My ultimate goal is to obtain my LMFT in California and open my own private practice. I got rejected from all the other programs I applied to this round, so it's either this or delaying by another year. Grateful for any and all input!
