Hi all, slowly preparing morally and financially to get a proper handheld and 477m seems like a best option.
So, what are the real differences between 8 and 12gb versions (please don't write 4gb) in terms of emulation for ps2/switch/etc?
Or, maybe you can tell me why I shouldn't get one and what I should get instead?
So I decided to jump on Batch 4 of the Odin 3 band wagon back in Feb, but this device always lived in my mind rent-free. There was just something about it that I couldn’t shake off.
When my Odin arrived there was something about it that I just felt was off. I thought it would be more capable out the box if that makes sense but in the end the long nights of tinkering annoyed me, so I sold it for a profit which entirely paid for my love affair with the rg477m.
On the day it arrived it got immediately upgraded with Gamma, Better Buttons and PS face buttons and I couldn’t be more in love.
The games this thing plays are right in the era of my teenage years and it’s really all I ever want to play on these things.
If you’re on the fence about getting this thing, I couldn’t recommend it more.
I’m trying to get GT4 working but the spinner turns red on the initial loading screen (after the opening video). After an investigation the spinner turning red signifies a “disc read error”, so I’m not really sure how to fix this.
- Rom is good (NTSC) from Vims
- Emulator: NethersX2
- OS: GammaOS Next
I’ve played with settings in NethersX2 but nothing seems to get past this step. Has anyone else got Gran Turismo 4 working on this device?

I just got it today!!! Incredibly excited but unfortunately I can't figure out how to get all the games that I want. I got the preload sd card and it doesn't have any of the games I actually want. I tried using all the apps that came with it and it won't let me download. Am I just stupid or something? I'm willing to pay someone who would give me advice on this
Hi so as someone who has a 477m i really like the better button mod but it costs $30 almost $40 shipped and i am broke at the moment so i wanted to see if there was a cheaper alternative. A guy on thingiverse has attempted some bumper/trigger combo that comes in two variants i went with the shorter R1 bumpers. The print isnt the quality of the better button mod but it works nicely, has options, and gets the job done. I recommend using the bigger r1 and l1 if you have bigger fingers as the bumpers do tend to feel small. With orange case the top bumpers are harder to press due to smaller size ones i used. i will probably be installing the bigger ones later. I didnt want to force the device inside the original clear tpu case to test the fit because it isnt as soft of a material as the orange printed one or the aliexpress black/clear one.

Hi- I’m trying to play Zelda on the 3ds via the Citra emulator but it seems like the screen is showing the 3ds handheld on it.
I tried to change it to full screen which makes it a tad better but still shows the 3ds handheld graphic on it.
Anybody know what I’m doing wrong in the settings? This is for the Thank you!

I'm using an Anbernic RG 477M to run Braid, Anniversary Edition and Spelunky but I can't get them to display in 4:3. Is there an easy way I can do this? I've edited the containers to a 4:3 output for both these games, but I'm still getting a 16:9 image when I boot them up.
Maybe there is nothing I can do. Sorry if this is a stupid question.
I have a question regarding the battery information in GammaOS, it says the maximum capacity is 2946mAh, shouldn't it be 5300mAh, is this a false read, or should I send my device back?
just got my device today and it’s awesome. it’s taking me a bit to figure out how to best optimize it as a complete beginner to handhelds. any advice appreciated, also looking for front end recs!
I had purchased this device last 5/6, installed some games and usual emulators and roms, played some games then suddenly it hanged. Tried hard reset then welcomed me with the anbernic logo and stayed like that, I realized it bootlooped. Searched some topic for solution and tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery still the same result ending up breaking the battery connection plate and disconnecting the fan. Wasted $400 (nt$11910) within 4-5 hours of usage for nearly a year of savings, very very disappointing and depressing. I cannot refund my purchase because i dont have a bank account (taiwan shoppee refund requirement). This is the 2nd anbernic device I had purchased, first was the rg505, it had problems but it fixes by reconnecting and disconnecting the battery then sold it right way. No doubt an excellent device especially for 4:3 games, enjoyed a very short time with it but never again Anbernic....
I love this device and it runs almost every ps2 game perfectly but i cant get carbon or most wanted to a stable fps. Is there anything im missing? Is there a specific emulator fork or patch codes to get gsmes running better? Is this device not strong enough for need for speed emulation? And should i just upgrade to something with a snapdragon for better racing performance?
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I've tried downloading small games like Dead Cells on these apps but whenever it starts installing the fans go full speed and the the device restarts itself.
I should mention I flashed to GammaOS, thinking I should try flashing back to stock to try it but wanted to hear if anyone else had this problem.
I have a 477M coming in tomorrow, I was wondering if anyone has tried a tape mod on the shoulder buttons to dampen the sound any. I did see the BetterButton teardown guide for it and I think I should be able to apply a layer or two of tape without completely removing any boards. Has anyone that's tried a tape mod noticed any sound difference?
