NV21 local HDMI
Working with our QSYS vendor and getting conflicting answers.
On a NV21 being used as a decoder, can the local HDMI input be controlled?
For example, I have a NV21 Decoder connected to a TV. A digital signage unit is plugged into the NV21 HDMI input. I want to control the NV21 to sometimes use a network stream (from another NV21 acting as an encoder), but sometimes use the Digital Signage connected via the local HDMI.
This seems possible, and at first it was “no problem” but now I’m being told I need an addition NV-21 to encode the digital signage if I want to control it.
I can’t find a clear answer in the online product sheets or manual, so looking for Reddit to help! :-)
Is this feature specified somewhere I can point the vendor to as evidence?
Noob here; how can I organize the channels in tabs in the UCI and Meters Page? Have a system with 38 Dante Mics; when I drag them over only the current group transfers.

Hi everyone. I finished my file and sent it, but the grader did not accept it. He said there were several mistakes, but I tested the file and saw that it worked. I also changed my file a few times because the grader did not accept it, but nothing changed. I want to know where I made mistakes.
- Laptop switching — on my end, it works correctly.
- Hold button — when you press it, it mutes all microphones and sends the lobby music to the far end. It works on my file.
- UCI gain control — this is the part I really do not understand. Because I already configured it so that when the fader goes to the bottom, it mutes automatically. But the grader still did not accept it.
- Q-LAN — the grader said that the music is not going to pass through Q-LAN, but that does not make sense to me. Because it is a simple setup, and you only need to select the transmitter name on the second core.
Maybe I did my file complex and grader just want me to simplify this. But it does not mean it is not work. Can someone have any idea what I have to do? Thanks.
Quick sanity check for the community:
- Are there any known issues running a Q-SYS Core Nano on 9.13.1 with the MTR plugin on 9.10.1?
- Our integrator installed a Netgear GS313EPP smart switch (not an AV Line / M4250). Could this switch be a contributing factor to Teams / Q-SYS blue screen issues?
- Event logs mentioned- Core is in fault because processing overrun.
We have multiple other rooms running the same Core/plugin version and switch mix without problems, which makes this one room questionable.
Appreciate any insight.
Not sure if this is the right place to post. I’m wanting to upgrade the hallway speaker system at my church and came across the MP-M40. I have enjoyed have zone controls for splitting hallways, bathrooms, etc., but the amp we have now is on the cheaper end and doesn’t have great processing features. Do these two products work together so I also don’t have to buy new ceiling speakers (they are 70V, up to 5w)? How would I go about connecting them and setting up zones, I can’t find a guide anywhere!
Should I use Dante or AES67? Need to connect 9 ULXD4Q to QSYS Core X10; about 40 mics in total.

I was looking at the link above and does anyone know Qsys Cameras with this setup can do Auto Tracking? like follow the presenter, and other camera can track the audience by picking up thier voice?
- with MS Teams hybrid setup, can it do group framing? similar to how logitech does its group vs presenter framing?
- Can it be setup with multiple Shure Ceiling Mics instead of Sennheiser?
- instead of 2 large displays, can it connect to NEC Projector instead?
the room would be more Training Room with divisible partition to make it combined vs single mode.
- can we add x2 front wall speakers next to the projection screen?
its kind like Training room with divisble partition, and add projector instead of 2 large displays.
Do you guys prefer setting up Dante on QSYS using the Dante Controller or inside QSYS? Any difference in reliability?
I need to connect 24 NV-21 to a switch. These require PoE++ to work.
The QSYS NS26-1440++ has enough PoE++ ports and budget, but only had a 1Gbps SFP port. Will I be maxing out the bandwidth on the uplink? If I did two of these switches would 12 NV-21 max out the bandwidth on the uplink?
The NV-21 specs vary, and say estimated bandwidth is between 100-800Mbps.
EDIT: See my comment below that expands on the suggested idea to use QSYS Notifications.
So I'm wanting to call and pass information from a function in one text controller, to a function in another text controller. I have A way of making it work, but it seems a little awkward and I'm wondering if I'm missing a better way.
TextControllerA has a function:
function funcAddNumbers(a, b)
print (a + b)
end
and two components
intNumberA -- knob set as integer
intNumberB -- knob set as integer
From TextControllerB I can do the following:
RemoteFunction = Component.New('TextControllerA')
RemoteFunction["intNumberA"].value = 1
RemoteFunction["intNumberB"].value = 2
From there, I can use event handlers or triggers inside TextControllerA to kick off funcAddNumbers, passing in the value of the two knob components.
This works, but it's a bit cumbersome and requires making new components for every unique piece of data I might want to pass into a function. Am I on the one and only correct path, or is there a better way of doing this?
In a nutshell, client leased a new space, this equipment was left behind. Had to default the system due to admin password. Their needs are super basic. The core 110f is sitting on FW 8.1.1 connected to to a QSC amp (pendants etc all through the space). While there is a Shure Mixer connected, we don't have. need for that. Simply want to connect a streaming audio device (such as a Sonos Port or iPod) and play background music on the existing setup. Thoughts on making this happen quickly. I spoke with TS at QSYS and will be reviewing the videos and resources over the weekend. Hoping this depoloyment from its now bare metal state will be fairly straightforward to implement. Only use case in this clients wish list is using it for background music.
I have a job where a Q-SYS Core went offline from Reflect at 5:50am, there are cameras as well, so I know it wasn't a person holding down the front button or powering it off, the building didn't lose power, and none of the several other cores in the building were affected,, but upon further troubleshooting I found that the core had been completely reset to factory settings. It had lost its hostname, network settings, and was no longer registered on Reflect.
It came back up just fine when I changed the host name back and pushed the latest design file, but I am baffled - other than holding the front button down for 10+ seconds are there even any other methods to factory reset a Q-SYS core - can you do it from Core Manager? I don't see a way to do it through Reflect.
Has anyone ever seen this happen?
Are there any online option to learn qsys training from scratch? Got certification from qsys for level 1 and 0. But not that helpful for Prod level. Looking for instructors who can help learning qsys coding.
I'm trying to add a couple of used PS-1600H paging stations to my facility. We're running QSYS Designer 10, and I know that support for the PS-1600 was removed as part of the 10.0 software roll out. Has anyone come up with a successful work-around to allow PS-1600H paging stations to be used with 10? If not, it seems like reverting to a previous QSYS designer version is the only option....
