Disco 2000 - Misheard Lyric

It was only until karaoke yesterday when I realised the line "I would be living down here on my own" WASN'T "I would be livid and here on my own". I don't know why, to me it just added to that classic British charm. I'm shocked, but I'll probably keep singing it this way, cos I think it's cooler.

It

Recently I got Pulp’s debut record, It, on vinyl! Like, a couple days ago I snagged it at my local shop! What a find!

Anyhow and anywho, I’ve liked It for a while and find it to be just as good as anything else they’ve done, despite being quite different from anything else they’ve done. Maybe it’s ‘cause chamber pop is a favorite genre of mine and a lot of the sounds on the album lean into that aesthetic, but whatever the reason is I love it.

I guess my big reason for making this post is the desire to hear more albums/bands with that sound. Any recommendations? Smiths is a big one I’m sure, but if you could think of other stuff that’d be awesome as well.

Early Demos Bootleg

Does anyone know anything about this?? I was at my local record store and it seemed too cool not to grab!! I also got their debut album, It!!

But yes, apparently there are demos of I Want You, Anorexic Beauty, and many more on here. There’s no label on the disc or anything.

Super mysterious find!!

Sunrise ending is so… PearlJammy

EDIT:
Trying to find where the feeling came from (because the feeling is real), and after listening to some of my PJ’s all-time favorites, I guess it comes from Sunrise’s 2:30 transition to its long exit having some coincidences with PJ’s Present Tense 3:30 transition to its long exit.
Both songs kind of delay their real emotional payoff until that long instrumental exit. Some notes, riffs, background voices, etc just seem to bring me common vibes.
Not talking about influences whatsoever! and sorry if someone felt this like an offense 😅

Bar Italia Forum - gone?

Does anyone know what happened to the Bar Italia fan forum that used to be connected to Pulpwiki?

A week or so ago it simply... disappeared. Something about the Activeboard account being locked. I've been a lurker there for 20 years or so, it's a relic of the old internet that it'll be sad to see go so suddenly and without ceremony.

Filmed this from the stands in Argentina 2023. Just confirmed this time I'll be on the field, can't wait! ❤️
