r/PostAudio

Hey guys, really hoping this is the right place, I scoured reddit for a long time hoping someone can help.

VERY long story short, my mechanic never quoted me for $4400 worth of work he performed without consent, I never approved the repairs and he claims he has audio of the phone call where I’m accepting costs. I don’t at all recall the conversation going this way (the first half is also very clearly missing), and I’ve uploaded the mp3 into audacity and checked the spectrum, looks to my like there’s harsh cut offs of frequency over my voice like someone has chopped/cut my audio.

I was hoping someone can check it out for me? Not sure if there’s a fee involved but I’m happy to pay someone for a legitimate analysis so I can give the details to my solicitor. I have photos of the spectrum I can post also (my voice above, theirs below, on what seems to be two separate audio lines) which is also odd they’re on two different lines of audio? If it was a recorded conversation on the phone wouldn’t it only be mono?

My brother was killed in an accident shortly before all of this happened, so I was not in my right mind to be remembering specific details, however I have many reasons to believe they have gone this far with their dishonestly.

Please help. Thank you!

I’m not sure if this is the correct sub for this or not, but after many attempts to do it myself i’m in desperate help. About a year ago I received a voice recording from a popular social media VA saying some lines I requested. Thing is, he unfortunately pronounced my last name wrong. It’s super small, but for me it’s noticeable. My last name is Johnston, not Johnson. I can send the clip to anyone interested. Is there anyone that can help me either point me in the right direction to someone who can do it or someone on this sub that could do it? Any advice is super helpful. I appreciate your time!

Quick explanation: I made a silly thing last year with a specific voice effect. This effect was mostly done via me punching in random effects in Audacity until it sounded nice and I completely forgot to document it. I've been smashing my head against my computer for weeks now trying to replicate it and even though I've gotten somewhat close, none of it sounds right and I'm prepared to give up.

This post is my Hail Mary. My base offer is $80 CAD through PayPal, but I'm more than willing to bump that up if necessary. Here's an audio sample from that little project showing off the effect. Further samples can be provided on request.

I am 99% sure this was accomplished in vanilla Audacity, but frankly if you use plugins or a different software altogether, so be it. As long as the steps to recreate it are documented precisely and the plugins/software are readily available, I'm happy to call that a job well done.

Only other thing worth mentioning is that I have an Audacity macro that I think might be about halfway there and would help give a head start; only reason I'm not jotting it down here is because it would clog the post. That too is available on request.
