Ponytail palm browning tips🥲

Ponytail palm browning tips🥲

Hello everyone

I have a question regarding my beloved Ponytail palm. Apologies if this question has been asked a hundred times, but I cannot figure out where my care goes wrong.

Every week I have to trim the browning tips and they always return. I’m aware this is a common problem with this plant but I see it as a warning sign. I think it’s probably a watering issue. I have watered it about two weeks ago, and the soil feels bone dry.

* It is potted up in a well-draining soil mix in a ceramic pot
* It receives rainwater about once a month and gets watered thoroughly
* I have not yet fertilised it
* It is under a grow light (11 hours a day)
* humidity is at 60% most of the time

I know that each plant has different needs and requires different care, but is it possible for this plant to dry out this quickly? What can I do to stop the cycle of browning tips?

Thank you in advance!

Please help!

I bought this on the clearance shelf at a local store. Really trying to save it but I’m nervous it’s not looking great. There were more sprouts in this pot but we’re mushy and broke off. Please send any suggestions . I’ve never had a point tail Palm

I’m tempted to chop the tops off of my 20 year old ponytail palm to get more heads. Should I do it? How high up? One at a time?
