Back when the hobby was just people wanting to rip packs and play the game.
Had to blur faces for personal reasons.

I was just scrolling on Facebook marketplace, and I found this listing of a scalper trying to get rid of perfect order etbs and booster bundles selling it almost at MSRP 😂🤣
More just laughing at this one than annoyed.. he put it in a cardboard protector and then ran the elastic vertically against the card , causing it to bend obviously.
That’s certainly a choice. But like.. why? Haha
it’s not funny anymore lol
She pulled the Latias as her first really big pull out of a Costco pokeball a few ago then pulled the ascended pikachu day before Easter, gold Zard last night then the mega gengar today. Just a crazy run.

in fact this is just my creation :) i made a gold star dragonite because it would be so sick 😭 hope you guys like it !
Any thoughts or advice? I’d love to see some ways I could improve it
The greyscale “cards” are printed stand-ins for cards I currently don’t have but am looking for.
I mostly only buy singles in whatever language is cheapest because I collect more for the art than the value (and due to horrendous lack of sealed stock near me), but none of my cards are expensive anyway. Still my prized possession :)
Everyone who collected comics in the 90’s bought multiple copies, bagged, boarded and stored their comics. Today most of them are worth just above retail.
Pokemon has a “false scarcity” right now cause everyone is buying multiple products, putting them in cases and storing them.
Once the selling starts these things will plummet cause there are SO MANY, earlier sets have true collector value because people OPENED THEM.
I just don’t see a problem with this logic.
UPDATE: This was a great discussion, learned alot.
first time opening ascended heroes bc i never find any in store 😭 (my uncle gave me the etb) and in my 2nd to last pack I pulled this. I never get anything crazy from pokemon packs and I was soo happy when I pulled this.
$1000 markup for the experience to already know what youre gunna get from a resealed pack. can't make this stuff up
i haven’t touched tcg in years, well before covid, saw these and thought i’d get one. i love serperior and barbaracle, and i’m so happy i got tyrunt and its fossil!
Where do you see this card in 6 months?
I wish I was as careful with my cards as she was! I'm helping her to value them but I'm also so tempted to keep building the sets! There is also tons of commons and uncommons from Base, Rocket, Fossil, Jungle, Gym Challenge and Heroes. It's really ramped up my love for the vintage sets.
I started collecting last year and was mostly just picking up expensive cards without much of a plan. I started focusing on collecting my favourite Pokémon instead, which has been way more fun.
With my completed English set, the next goal now is to complete Japanese and Chinese set.

Shoutout to u/CanadaMan1124 for inspiring me with his Blaziken reddit post.
Also Shoutout to ZardGirlRipz on IG for the custom binder.
Perfect 9 card to start the album. The cards are full of color and different textures and they're a little reminder: not only full arts can be cool.
