I have the playseat trophy and love it! But after getting better pedals and a 18nm wheelbase I could feel the flex in the frame. Under heavy braking the deflection of the frame was pretty bad. I thought of ways to stiffen it and found a great solution thats cheap and doesnt interfere with the ergos.
$50 bucks in total and it's a night and day difference. The whole frame is more rigid. The only downside is you lose some of the vibration from the wheelbase to the seat. Easy trade though.
The parts here are some "Heavy Duty" ATV whip brackets 1.5"-2" (Bracket Link) and a 1/2" turnbuckle (Link). I'm using the turnbuckle under compression to maintain the distance between both members of the frame. I noticed when braking they would bow inward. There isnt a lot of force being applied here but enough where the turnbuckle is held in place. Once you sit
down you will notice its a lot more firm. The wheelbase mount and pedal plate are significantly more rigid as well.
Is this as rigid as an 80/20 Frame? Hell no. But if you want a significant rigidity increase and want to keep the trophy this is a quick and easy way to do it.
