Gym Recs

Hi All,

Moving to Pilsen area at the end of the month.

Was looking into Pilsen Gym. Seeing mixed reviews on treatment of goers.

I am hoping for a place that has ample barbell racks for basic lifts.

Also do not have a car.

If not Pilsen Gym, any other recs?

Pilsen's Own just dropped a teaser — Emerg bringing Latin hip-hop home with debut album "Wicked Since 93" 🇲🇽🎤

What's good r/pilsen —

Wanted to share something that's been in the works for a while, and feels right to bring to this community first.

Emerg is a Chicago MC born and raised right here in Pilsen. Born in 1993 — the same year Wicked Entertainment Network launched out of the city with nothing but $1,500 and a vision — his whole story is tied to this neighborhood. The murals, the music, the culture, the block. All of it.

His debut album Wicked Since 93 drops July 1st. It's a full Chicano rap / Latin hip-hop project produced by Marcos Martinez and Dave Dillion of Crook County — the production duo from Little Village widely credited with putting LV on the hip-hop map. Two neighborhoods, one record.

This is where it belongs first. Before the press, before the playlists — Pilsen gets it first.

Safety for Women Living Alone

Writing to ask how safe Pilsen is for a young woman living alone. Have spent time with several friends in that area and felt very safe, but don’t know if it’s different living alone or as a woman. Any with experience or advice?

Near the intersection of Blue Island Ave and 18th in particular. I will also have a car if that matters but thought I would mention it in case that’s relevant.

Birreria Reyes de Ocotlan closed?

Does anyone know if it's been closed permanently? I've been in the mood for them lately but they've been closed for like, a week or so straight.

Lost cat?

I found this cat, Bruiser, by an alley of Cullerton and Ashland. I sent a message and call thru the Tile QR (looks a bit worn and dirty so perhaps he’s been outside for awhile?) and the phone number just now and waiting for a response, but does anyone recognize this cat? Is it an outdoor cat or lost? Gave him food and water as he looked a bit skinny and fur a bit dirty and matted

Recommendations for House Cleaner in Pilsen

I recently moved from out of state and am looking for a house cleaner to come ~2x a month. If anyone has any references or suggestions for local people or companies they are willing to share, I’d greatly appreciate any recommendations!
