[Rapoport] #Giants star Dexter Lawrence is being traded to the #Bengals in a pre-Draft blockbuster that includes the No. 10 pick heading to the Giants, per me and
@MikeGarafolo.

NYG gets premium draft compensation, Cincy gets a lynchpin, while Sexy Dexy gets a new, big-money extension.

What are your thoughts on this mock?

So here’s what my thought process was:

I wanted Messidor, he went before, I like Parker and Zion Young at 31

Was between Tiernan and Rutledge at 63

Delp at 95 seems like a given. TE2 is a huge need.

De’Zhaun had a 30 visit, had us trading up 9 spots to get him, solid prospect.

Jeremiah Wright seems to be in the eyes of Pats scouts (pro day + 30 visit)

This is also “kinda” assuming NE trades for AJ, but who knows.

The 10 things I hope the Patriots keep in mind in the NFL Draft

I have an open mind as to who the patriot acquire, especially now that we are picking at the end of the draft. However, after listening to some… questionable feedback by sports writers, there are 10 things I hope the patriot keep in mind.

1: Do not draft a guard in the first round! It’s an underrated position, yes. But we have two grate starters at guard, wed don’t need another starter.

2: Address the team needs and draft the best player in one of those needs. Avoid getting locked in on just one position.

3: Do not draft a guard in the first round! You don’t waste a first round pick on a player that will be a backup for the next 5 years.

4: Morgan Moses is probably going to retire next year, so you can draft a tackle in the first round. This is different than guard because you’re drafting a starter for next year, not drafting a starter to be a full-time backup. Still, this is an option, not a must draft as you can draft a tackle next year.

5: Dont draft a guard in the first round!!! stupid, stupid stupid! this is the NFL, not preschool.

6: Denzel Boston is the safest pick for WR, yet most patriot fans are losing their minds over him. “He played for the same team as Polk, he’s tall like Nikhil Harry, Belichick and Mayo couldn’t draft a receiver early so that means this new team obviously can’t either! Also the moon landing was fake, the Earth is shaped like a doughnut, and the government is tracking our every move through vaccines. Waaaaa!!!!” It’s fine. Boston isn’t the quickest receiver, but he never drops the ball, he is smart, and he has an amazing catch radius. Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL, but if the Patriots draft him, no need to panic. Everything it’s gonna be OK.

7: Don’t draft a guard in the first round! “But Kyle, Mike Onwenu’s contract is expiring next year. Shouldn’t we protect Drake M-“ Then reassign Mike Onwenu, problem solved!

8: Trading up in the second or third round has a ton of value! I really hope to see a lot of day two trades from the Patriots.

9: If in spite all of this, you’re really stuck on drafting a guard, you can draft one on day two or three. Injuries happen, and having a solid backup Guard is a smart decision. So long as you-

10: Don’t draft a guard in the first round!!!

There, I have said my peace. Looking forward to the draft. 🤣

I Know. Critique it if you want. Here’s my one pre draft-week Mock.

This is how it landed using the Consensus board on PFN. I really didn’t go into it wanting to move back. But it was just RT left at 31, and I didn’t want to take one so early.

BAL offered this, and knowing next year’s draft should be deeper I jumped at it. Still landed with my number one want at Edge first pick. Felt good with Parker at this position.

I went with two WR that I think bring different dynamics. But big receivers, Drake sized guys. And Bell was the OT I wanted to make up for the lack of elite size our line had. Man is a mammoth.

Rest of the picks were guys that could hit or miss, but their talent is there. Think some good coaching could get something out of them.
