Some thoughts on 8 A.M. Metro

Recently watched 8 a.m. metro and would put it in one of my fav low budget simple drama movies like the The lunchbox, and Photograph.

I think the acting could be a little better, and director was not able to smoothly describe the depth of story through actors. I also do feel extra emphasizing on Urdu poetry and dialogue which felt a bit forced or cringy in certain scenes.

But it is an overall a good watch. I would be happy to hear your thoughts.

A little rant

I just watched Michael in the cinema today and I was pissed tbh. Not about the movie but people, we Pakistanis don't even show some emotions and express ourselves. A movie like Michael pushes people to cheer, dance and enjoy but out here every one just focus not to do something silly that'll get them embarrassed. All the time I've been to cinema, this was my worst experience, like wadahell if you've just come to be a statue for two straight hours then why bother coming here

Was this better than X(2022) ?

Just watched this simply because i watched X(2022) a couple of days ago and mainly because of Mia Goth. She was good in X but here she was amazing. Pretty solid movie and much better than X imo. X was very simply your typical slasher with a sprinkle of themes(aging, youth) you dont always see in this genre. This was Goth's movie from start to finish and she deserves a much bigger project to showcase her acting skills.

Where can I watch Bergman's films online with English subtitles.

Hello cinephiles! The question in the title: is there any place online where I can watch Ingmar Bergman's movies with English subs for free?

The most colorful movie I have ever seen

So many of you will remember watching this movie on HBO on tv back in the day.
Recently, I saw a lot of love for this movie on twitter and decided to watch it again and I must say, it holds up pretty well.
I use of bright colors is unlike anything I've seen. Wes Anderson movies are also very colorful, but it's different. Combined with over the top action, it's a fun watch. Would've loved to watch this on the big screen

Did anyone understand the deeper message of Manchalay Ka Sauda? (Ashfaq Ahmed & science)

Assalamualaikum,

I am thinking to watch it Manchalay Ka Sauda and it feels like it have a much deeper message than a typical drama.

I’ve also heard that Ashfaq Ahmed might be اشاره کر رہے تھے ke insaan ko science aur understanding ke zariye bhi Allah ke qareeb hona chahiye.

I’m not sure if I fully understood this correctly, so I wanted to ask:

What do you think was the real message behind it?

Was there a link between knowledge/science and spirituality?

Or am I overthinking it?

Would really appreciate different perspectives, especially from those who have watched it carefully.

Pakistan ki drama hai Bhai ye bhi yaqeen nahi aata
