How many mythical creatures from folklore do you remember, I remember two or three

Chunghu - it is a bearded pot bellied dwarf like creature that steals stuff from people, it also scares children and might even steal them, you can control one with some magic and it will be your slave and can be used for theft.

Atshari- unlike uttrakhand and jammu kashmir, water nymphs in himachal are more similar to old hags bsba yagas with hanging breasts, and prey on travellers

Deiņ - basically a witch but more grotesque and much likely to steal children

I think Mandi is pretty underrated and we should look towards it for future ventures instead of Kangra or Shimla or why the capital shouldnt be either Dharamshala or Shimla but in distt. MANDI

I'll say Shimla is what it is due to the british and circumstances what they were during the colonial period, if you compare terrain and roads I think Mandi has greater potential with the only true Doon sort of valley in Himachal in Balh region of Mandi.

Given that its at the centre of the state, it is both situationally and culturally equidistant to all fringes of the state, with cultural influences from west, north, east and south.

Now with the Kiratpur-Manali fourlane project and the Airport in Mandi zbout to open up it seems Mandi would be at the centre of all progress that is about to arrive

tbh,I'll cut the crap I have been all around himachal but I dont think what the diversity of terrain that Mandi has and the best suitable land for settlement and development that Mandi has like around Balh, with Horticulture around Thunag and Karshog, it seems mandi is pretty unique and gifted.sometimes, I feel that instead of Shimla or Dharamshala the capital should be in Mandi
