Just farming for a unique experience.

So excited I finally got everything working after a year on and off of trying to get BGA work down. I'm also just so excited with how the case turned out after a deep clean and a polish. Also, realizing I totally forgot to take a picture post tantalizer install :/.

Something interesting to note, I've done 2 systems now, both had error 1200 multiple times as well (cell overheating) from using insufficient heat sinks during initial testing of RSX replacement. Both also had the fan curves seemingly automatically adjusted in the eeprom to spin at full speed on stage 0 and 1. I haven't read about this anywhere else before, but I had to rewrite the fan curve via syscon UART to get the fans to stop going completely full blast on boot, as it didn't seem to reset itself after extended testing to the original curve.

• 40nm RSX
• RSX VDDR reduced to 0.95V w/ 'sony' method
• Custom Fan curve via Syscon
• Cell/RSX delid
• All new thermal pads
• All NEC/Tokin caps replaced with RIPFelix tantalizers

The fans are running at 35% idle speed, should I replace the thermal paste?

Found this beauty. Nice display for what it is. I have the playstation soundbar so chuffed to get the matching TV as well. Just need to think how to set it up right. Want to try find the 3D glasses and try out 3D gaming, more for the novelty value. If anyone has any thoughts on 3D gaming back in the PS3 era where it seemed every game had some form of 3D gimmick incorporated, feel free to share.

I paid 25 euros for a sealed 5th freedom edition

I got my A01 ps3 Frankensteined with a 65nm a month ago and thought maybe the guy forgot to delid the cpu, I’m not too sure. I just finished playing motorstorm 10 mins after taking this pic and the console has been on for almost 2 hours. For reference I have a B01 40 nm and the cpu sits at 58c on the xmb.

What are your alls thoughts on Heavy Rain? It’s been quite the experience to play it this way.

i started playing skate(ignore my shitty gameplay) and noticed that the textures don load and a weird stutter when i look around fast or when a lot is going on. dying hdd?

Hello guys. My fat ps3 is dead. Is this the capacitor problem or another thing? It's a CECHH01, worth repairing?

I'm trying hard to find a Sony refurbished phat model with ps2 backwards compatibility, I may be wrong but this one seems like it might have been serviced before due to it having the 08 serial affix for pal region which means theres a chance of it having a more reliable cpu.

The only problem is that the seller says it already has the YLOD, but it only costs about £30. Is it worth buying for a chance I can salvage it or at least swap parts of it into another phat PS3 to get a working frankenstein?
