Picked up some JK Super Duty boots
When I was in Phoenix I went by their store to get fitted and coming from nicks and whites, the sizing way different. But the guy at the store was super helpful. I think he was a bit timid on giving me a tighter boot because a lot of people get discouraged by the break in period. But once the ice was broken, all bets were off. He got me into a perfect fitting boot. No heal slip, right around the ball and arch but not cramped. I’m a 9.5 D in whites and nicks. And a 9 EEE in these JKs. I’ve heard mostly negative things on Reddit about JKs but I figured they have their Super Duty’s squared away and took the chance. They didn’t have my size in store in the setup I wanted (smooth over rough out, safety toe), so they shipped them priority to me in northern Arizona. I put them on and went straight to work. I love my nicks and my whites and won’t stop wearing them, but when a safety toe is needed I’ll be grabbing these for sure.

Stretch the width of fireboots
Has anyone had the issue of your boots being too narrow and need to stretch them? Can someone recommend a brand /model of boot stretcher ?

Sizing by Arch Length?
For those with 1+ size longer heel to arch vs heel to ball, how did you end up sizing for med/high arch lasts (ie 55)?
I'm a 10.5 heel-to-toe but ~12 heel-to-arch when measuring on brannock. Trying White's 55, a 10D feels like the arch is too far back towards my heel. 11D arch feels much more comfy, but the front of the boot is very roomy. Wouldn't say there's excessive slip during a basic try-on, but worried how it might feel if the boot loosens up at all. The flex point (circled in photo) also seems a little far back.
I've been considering trying a 10.5, but am on the fence regarding how the arch will feel. Given I probably have to custom order the exact size (10.5E), I'm hesitant to commit. Would be disappointing to wait a couple months only to find I preferred the arch on the 11D.

NW last vs mod 55?
How does White's NE last compare to Drew's modified 55 especially in terms of length? I have some Drew's Contractors in an 8D on their modified 55 last. White's has some boots on the NW last im interested in. Is it safe to go with an 8 as well? Thx

How to deal with tightness across the top of my foot.
I started to get into boots about a year ago and have tried a few different brands to see whose I like the most. I have my thoughts on all of them, but the one consistent issue I run across is they are tight across the top of my foot in the dorsal instep of my feet. My Brannock is 9D, so I have gone with 8.5D in most cases, except when I bought second hand and went with an E or EE to get the price. All of the measurement guides from every company don't really account for that measurement as the 8.5 length is fine and the D width is ok in most cases, although sometimes the EE is appreciated.
I can't be the only person with a big bony bump at my instep that feels like it is being crushed by their boots. So what measurement can I adjust to deal with this? Do I just have to go up to a 9?
I have already tried different laces, taking off kilties, and stretching them with a baseball. I'm wearing mid weight Darn Tough socks.
