Got an Onn 4k Pro from eBay

Yes I paid almost $100 for it. I couldn’t find it anywhere in any Walmart near me. I look at it like this. One time purchase for years to come so it’s worth it.

Ready To Give Up On ONN 4K Pro V2 2026

My local Walmarts (3 of them) do not yet have them in stock and every Walmart within 100 miles are not carrying them. It is apparent that ONN manufacturing is either slow or they are limiting the number they are shipping to the USA as a result of the Trumps Tariff policy.

I wished you could order these directly from Walmart. Ebay prices are exploiting the low stock issue. I refuse to pay more than $75 for this.

I am looking at the newest Google Streaming box. I can have that in my home in the next 2 hours delivered. Any reason that i should hold on and wait on the ONN 2026 model?

Thanks for hearing my grievance.

New 2026 4k Pro - setup experience

Was able to snag a 4k Pro from a Walmart in Houston. Just got done setting it up this morning. My observations so far:

  1. The setup was long. I was able to share my Google setup and there was a large 170MB update that took a while.
  2. It eventually hung on setting up Google Ambient Mode and it did not make any progress. I had to pull the power and restart the Onn device
  3. There was a remote update that prevented the Google Play Store from searching apps. I installed the remote update and rebooted.
  4. The system is up and running now. The speed is great and the apps work quite well.

I moved from an NVidia Shield which was buffering frequently on a particular streaming app I use. So far so good.

I think the Onn 4K Plus is Discontinued

We've all heard the rumors in the subreddit and I'm starting to believe they are true.

The Plus is the same price as the Stick @$40. Why would the more powerful Plus be the same price as the inferior stick?

Also, the new Pro 2026 is $60. Unless they want to start charging $50 for the Plus to sit in between the Stick and the Pro price wise, why even keep producing the Plus? It doesn't make any financial sense to have 3 products separated by $10 at 3 price levels.

I've also noticed while trying to acquire a few Plus and Pro versions over the last month that the Walmart site doesn't allow me to click on the "Pick up- Check Nearby" box and show listings of the stores in my area revealing the current inventory for the Plus. When I do the same search on the Pro version, I'm able to see all of my local stores listed and their availability, even though they have none. The stores are at least listed, unlike when I check with the Plus.

At this point I've kind of given up hope acquiring the Plus and will just have to purchase 3 or 4 of the slightly pricier pro versions when they finally become available in my area. It's kind of ridiculous that Walmart is taking so long getting these on the shelves throughout the country.

There was only one available late in the evening, so I snatched it up as quick as I saw it. There were 2 others a few days later but they got sold out within a minute or 2.

So as I'm setting this up, I can say it's officially much better than the 4K Plus, maybe 5 to 10x times better! It's much more of a premium build, you of course get more features, the back lit remote with find me function is really nice, the mic and speaker in the device itself for voice control, the ports which are so so, a downgrade with the USB 3.0 on the first pro box down to 2.0, and 100mbps Ethernet, but it's something. I'm hoping you can use a dock via the USB c port to get gigabit Ethernet, USB stick to site movies playable with vlc player etc. Others seem to report being able to stream 4k using the USB 2.0 port so maybe it doesn't really matter. But yea it feels faster, you have the potential to use emulated games due to the higher capacity memory and storage and it seems to have resolved a number of the issues with the plus 4k so far. Very happy with it! Hope to get a few more.

Yes I use Projectivy, I use Troypoints and CordCuttersLIs set up videos and a bunch of Ai searches and other YouTube searches to figure out the details on how to configure things like Kodi, Stremio, VPN, VLC, etc and which apps in full to get that they and others recommend.

Need to force close YouTube every time to reopen it.

Using original Onn 4k Pro with latest Android 14 OS which latest patch was released last week. (May 2026)

If I’m watching YouTube and go into another app and then try to reload YouTube, the YouTube logo comes up and the line underneath it goes left right but then the screen goes black and just stays black. I have to force stop YouTube to be able to get it to reopen.

I did reinstall latest version of YouTube updates. Same problem. (Can’t completely uninstall YouTube, I uninstalled updates and then reinstalled.)

Any tips? Thanks in advance.

Grabbed two new 4k pros at my local store despite it saying out of stock for pick up!

Checked my app with my local store selected (south California) and it said out of stock and decided to go check anyways and they had 3 in the shelves, I got one one for my brother and parents, it’s worth checking if you have a store nearby.

Two days into 4k... actually good as hell. Should I return for 4k Pro tho? Is it worth the 70 hike?

So I got the ONN for the World Cup coming up but I'm not sure if I should keep this one or upgrade?

Resale Clowns

Was searching for a Pro or Plus model for a family member. I know that sometimes the stores have them in the back with new shipment, so I decided to check out a store and ask. Thought we got lucky but when he brought the box out it was filled with the Standard 2026 4K Models. He said they actually won’t be carrying the Plus model anymore. I Found that weird but 🤷🏾‍♂️. Anyway I know people are purchasing multiple and reselling them online so I was curious what people were selling them for. I checked Amazon and someone had the Old 4K Pro version for $102! ONE HUNDRED AND TWO DOLLARS! lol man what the heck is wrong with people. What’s worst is this is following the trend. People drive too much attention to the product, the company catches wind so they drive their prices up or they implement changes that make the product more restrictive to how most of us are using them. You resellers are weird man.

New onn box

I'm going to Florida in a few days and wondering whether to pick a onn box from a local Walmart? Just a bit worried about it locking itself to the USA when I start using it in UK. Is there a way around it?

I’m trying to follow along a set up video and can’t figure out to enable developer options. I click the Android TV OS build seven times but nothing is happening? I’m using the Onn tv plus box that is running the Android TV OS 16.0. Am I missing something?

Replacement HDMI cord

My Onn Box Pro HDMI keeps flickering on & off every few minutes. Read it’s due to the cord. Anybody know of a good replacement HDMI cord?

Finally able to pickup a Onn 4k Pro at my local Walmart.

I'm a first time user for the Onn TV Boxes. It's been a while since I've used an external TV box on my TV.

I have a LG UHD Smart TV that I have been using Streamio on for the last year or so and it hasn't been without its issues mainly due to the LG WebOS software limitations and the amount of things you can't do with the LG WebOS like the ability to clear cache easily and or modify apps.

After some recent issues with my streamio setup I decided to try Onn 4k Pro TV box and see if that will give me a better experience with my Streamio app and media build I use.
