Megatron should be judged with awareness of historical continuity, not just modern standards.
On Cybertron, unlike humans, there is no generational reset. The same individuals persist across massive social and ideological shifts. That creates a unique situation: the people who committed extreme acts are also the ones forced to confront and adapt to the consequences of those acts.
Megatron fits this model. His early ideology formed under a highly oppressive, unequal system. His violent revolution emerged within a context where systemic brutality already existed.
Over time, Cybertronian society evolves—partly because of the war he helped create.
He then has to live within that evolved moral framework, without the “reset” humans get through new generations.
A human comparison would be taking someone from the 15th century and making them live continuously into the 21st century, experiencing every moral, political, and cultural shift firsthand. Their early actions would reflect the norms and pressures of their original context, even if those actions later become indefensible by newer standards.
That doesn’t make him innocent, but it means his actions come from a context that no longer exists, while he himself still does. He’s both the product of that past and someone forced to confront its consequences in the present.
going insane trying to find one of these for a decent price. no i cant understand korean
