I’m trying to use more of my marker set because i find myself gravitating to the same colour palettes. Tonight I picked 6 random colours with a random number generator and I hate how it came out 😭 What are your suggestions for using different colours?
Last week I made a post about a project I started to address the problem of traveling with ohuhus while keeping my sets organized. The idea being a system that can allow the user to create and travel with organized swatches/sets. The system should be modular and allow the user to expand or shrink their marker selection depending on use case.
Main takeaways from everyone was weight, tilt capabilities, and capacity. I'm happy to say these points have been addressed. I ditched the 6 pack, went with 16 pack minimum instead, reduced the wall thickness and material used, and incorporated a built in tilt stand stored in each unit. I also made each unit compatible with other products with just a swap of the bottom elevator.
Developments in progress- the main issue I have with the current system is relying on magnets is okay for 2 boxes, but inadequate for 3+. I'm looking into making a Velcro strap that can go around multiple boxes to keep them better secured during travel. I am also developing a general use container for pens, pencils, and fine liners that will be compatible with the rest of the system. I know that a few people suggested a slot for paper swatches, and am exploring ways to incorporate that without telling users "tape one to the lid". If you have any other input, ideas, or criticisms please let me know, as this project is ultimately for you guys!
Also sleepy puppy in background for your enjoyment. Thanks!
Okay so I went to my local dollar store and purchased these 6 rectangular planter boxes. I’m determined to make my own shelving for the markers. I bought wide popsicle sticks to possibly add shelves (I’m not sold on that idea.) Does anyone else see my vision here and have any suggestions? I just could not spend $80 + Canadian dollars on the shelves to display and organize my markers. I’ve spent more than enough on the markers themselves. So I’m going the cheaper DIY route but I’m unsure of next steps. Any ideas?
Hello! I’ve recently got back into alcohol marker colouring. I previously had the full 320 set which (if I’m honest) was too overwhelming. After a break, I purchased the 60 brush and soft chisel set and I’ve really enjoyed getting back into colouring, however I’m finding the colours quite limiting - especially the lack of a proper bright yellow!
I’m just wondering what the ‘sweet spot’ set is for someone who doesn’t want to get overwhelmed with too many, but has a good selection of shades and a proper yellow! Perhaps one I can add to without duplicating pens in the future if I felt comfortable in doing so. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊 Many thanks.
Mostly I work with acrylic or spray paint, etc but wanted to try these out. Biggest problem I have is I need to use a micron or some kind of waterproof fine liner to do the outlines( which I don’t want to do in black). The fineliners change color the more you go over it which is frustrating. Any advice would be appreciated!
I'm so upset! My husband didn't tell me this stupid robot was set to clean at a certain time. (Its new, we've only had it a few days and I think he has just been turning it on so far). We went out to walk the dogs and I came back to the swatches I had been working on literally all day ruined. If I had known it was set to clean, I would have picked everything up.
Got my first set of the 120 set the other day and spent the whole day coloring away. First time “adult coloring” and I’m so impressed with these markers!!! Just bought the 104 as it’s currently on sale for $79.
I just bought the 200 ohuhu honolulu B series from michael’s. I am struggling to blend & also feel like the set doesn’t have a lot of light pastel colors☹️. Any tips for blending & making the colors I have work? Also would be open to buying some individual shades if needed. If you have favorite must have pastel shades let me know please!!
I have the 320 bag but not the set, I have most of the colours though (Honolulu) - I’ve just divided them by colours but I want to arrange them better such as cool, dark, warm etc, mainly for ease of blending colours, but no idea where to start! Any advice please? Thanks in advance 😊
Hello all!
So I have always had a knack for coloring, shading, etc… and decided to order some things to get me started. (Ohuhu 160 count, Amazon has them on sale for $74.99) I am looking for some suggestions on what else I may need, for example some gel pens; brand, colors and such.
Also some good tutorial book or videos to show the different styles?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to posting my early work!
I’ve been using the ohuhu 48 mid tones for ages now and I finally upgraded to the 168 set. Got em organized too. I attached some of my work with the 48 set to get y’all stoked for the new stuff coming your way.
I'm gonna be dog sitting for 20 days and want a set that has a good color range.
I'm very tempted to get the Bobbie Goods set simply for the case but I would prefer a good color pallette more.
What do you think?
I don’t have much room at home, and I don’t like coloring while keeping my pencils in the original bag because I find it inconvenient. I’d like to organize a small setup, but every day I have to put everything away and take it all back out again. Do you have any ideas for something practical, efficient, and easy to move around? I havé the 320 set
