*** I posted this in the North County Reddit Group, and it seems like many other locals weren't aware about this establishment - sharing here as well for visibility***

Just watched a documentary about the Twelve Tribes and honestly pretty disturbed.

I had no idea that the Yellow Deli is connected to them. After looking into it more, there are some serious allegations around the group that are worth being aware of.

From what I’ve seen, they’ve had a presence at several North County farmers markets. Can anyone confirm which ones they’re currently at?

Curious how people here feel about supporting businesses tied to organizations with this kind of reputation. Also wondering how vendors get approved for these markets and whether that’s something the community has any say in.

If even a fraction of what’s been reported is true, it’s worth a serious conversation about whether they should have a presence at local events.

Just think it’s something the community should be informed about.

Give it to me straight - how are Lincoln & MLK middle schools? My kids are in elementary school and I haven’t heard a single good thing about either. I need a serious temperature check.

Anybody had any experience with this hotel on Mission near the freeway? Used to be called Econo-lodge and has recently taken on the name of a hotel in umm...Portugal. Got a third name too, something about Pendleton... My friend went there recently and said there were a lot of druggies around the lot. Even worse the creepy manager guy Jay wouldn't give back the $100 deposit back (despite no damage) and the police had to be called in to get the money back. A quick look at online reviews suggests this guy commonly rips off people for the deposit even for minor things like smeared make up or a spot on a towel. This appears to date back years. I hear he's a total hothead and will try to intimidate or humiliate people hoping they just scurry away. Sounds like a really toxic management. Glowing positive reviews appear to be shills because there is no middle ground (ie bimodal distribution) in the scores. Do you think the City Council would be interested in hearing more about this ripoff parlor? Yes, I know this is not an elegant resort, and relatively inexpensive, but what it sounds like is blatant fraud and totally lacking in "hospitality."
