i'm eyeing a 2000 v6 convertible right now for a daily, I want to know if I should look out for anything bad with any particular year of the new edge
I like a deep and toned sound on my v8's, nothing noisy. More of an H and not and X pipe guy. That being said I havent seen many good examples of people playing around with the factory setup to get a good sound, and I don't have the money to buy an aftermarket setup. I saw someone on youtube put in a cheap o/r H and a setup of cherry bomb vortex's for the catback that sounded pretty good. But I don't want my car smelling like a racecar and ringing my ears on the highway.
Has anyone here tried taking off all except the first set of factory cats and putting in a nice muffler? If so what kind of sound did you get?
I dont get how Ford had the New Edge with the fake hood scoop.
Hello all, 03 v6 with about 212,700 on the dash. Replaced spark plugs and wires along with iac valve within the last week, planning on cleaning maf and throttle body soon.
First few days the car felt amazing and had no issues, about three days ago while it was idling before i left i noticed it was misfiring again like in the video. A couple pops here and there but nothing noticeable while actually driving, wasn’t really doing that before replacing plugs and iac. I also noticed for the first time yesterday the high pitched whine coming from the passenger side of the engine bay, lower side. Went away after turning the car off and back on the first time, didn’t go away today after cycling the key; sounds like it “winds down” when i shut the car off.
I know i’ve gotta clean the maf and throttle body yet, might doing these help with this misfire or do i need to look somewhere else?
The car also still likes to stay above 1k rpm coming to a stop since changing the iac which is confusing me a bit. When it’s warm it’ll normally go to around 6-700 rpm but sometimes it likes to stick almost right at 1k.
Any input is appreciated, thank you
2003 Cobra, 2004 Mach 1. Also have a 2014 Shelby GT500
I don't have a newedge, it's a 1994 V6, but I figured I'd ask here because it's more active.
Currently, there's some shitty budget all season tires on the thing because it was the only thing I could afford at the time. Time for those to go!
Starting a touge build, complete beginner, not trying to do anything crazy, this is also my daily driver. Currently I've just done a rear axle swap (base model 7.5" axel & diff to the 8.8" GT version) as I needed the diff replaced anyway.
Looking for tire recommendations that have decent grip, not a bajillion dollars and are also fine for a daily. Wheels are still stock.
Hello everyone! Looking for some help for my 2004 Mach 1. I parked the car at my mom’s house on a trickle charger back in September since I was moving and winter was approaching in Chicago. Anyway, I parked it, came by started it a couple of times every month and one day it just didn’t start. Anti theft system is blinking and I only have one key and one fob. I’ve tried checking the big 30amp fuse, I tried disconnecting the battery for an hour, and I tried leaving the key in the on position for 30 mins or so, turning they key itself in the drivers door, and unlocking and locking with the fob a whole bunch, and nothing seems to work. Everything I’ve seen on line points to it starting but it just doesn’t. The theft light flashes quick, and then goes away and then just cranks. Thanks for your time to read this. Anything will help!
I got this problem when the car is shaking a little bit on P it sound (i have a aftermarket exhaust) missing
But i checked it with obd scanner live data zero misfire keep in mind i just changed spark plugs coils fuel injection alternator its still there and i can feel it dashboard dimming and the sound doesn’t feel right i checked for engine mount transmission mount all good but still feels shaky and missing and it get worse when the AC on I cleaned and relearned the throttlbody i did everything and still missing with no check engine light or code and car run super fine i put aftermarket airfilter headers downpipes and exhaust im getting frustrated so bad with the shake like the car is just uncomfortable to drive when stop when im not moving please help me !!!
In my search for an OEM looking double din for my 04 GT, I stumbled upon this unit. Its listed for an f150, but if its an aftermarket 7"... shouldn't it be universal? Anyone have input, or even a more direct option?
Again, I'm looking for a very factory aestetic, such as this piece. Cheers! 🍻
I entered my slightly battered, good from 10 feet ‘03 Mach 1 in the Shiner, TX Volunteer Fire Dept car show today.
My good friend and local Ford guru Mike P. ran this show for YEARS. Mike unexpectedly passed away shortly after last year’s show. His family took over and did an outstanding job.
I certainly don’t consider my Mach a show car, but I thrashed on it just trying to get it semi ready, because I knew Mike would be very happy that it was in the show. Mike ordered an ‘03 Mach when they were announced (since sold, still in showroom condition) and was long the owner of a mint ‘70 Mach 1.
Mission accomplished. Didn’t win anything. Didn’t expect to. There were a fair amount of Mustangs but I was proudly the only New Edge.
Here’s to ya, Mike.
I was driving her earlier and everything was fine till I got off of work; as I turn her on she starts shaking non stop and whenever I try to even press the gas it’s almost stuttering not wanting to go faster and whenever I tried to do so I heard a pop almost every time. Engine sounds week like on life support week, and the RPMs you’ll see
I’m planning on getting a new edge but I don’t know whether I should get a 4.6 or just find a 5.0, I’m hearing a lots of chatter that 5.0 is superior in every way to a 2v 4.6, but then that got me to thinking, sure maybe the 2v is straight buns, BUT what if I got the 4 valve? Is that a good middle or even better between the two or am I just doomed to be underpowered from a 5.0. I love the reliability but I also still want to gap and sound gnarly💔
Was driving on a local road, hit a bump pretty hard and heard a scrape, pretty normal. but when I got home I took a look under my car & looks like something hit my pan (don't know if thats what the scrape was) Now there is a slight dent right behind my drain plug. I didn't see a Oil pressure Light, didn't hear any pinging or knocking, nor was it leaking. Changing an oil pan isn't something I wanna do so what better than to get other opinions?
Made a post about this setup a few times a while back. It is without a doubt probably the cheapest but best sounding setups you can get new without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money.
