Struggled today

Struggled in my zone 5 today. Cannot figure out why.

1st/2nd pic. Why does it go down this area again when it was mowed.

3rd/4th pic. Why did it turn around there instead of just going to the end and completing the rows.

5th pic. Never finished that spot..

Once again I think it is with the calculation of percent complete and the mowing logic. But just a guess. I may turn the camera off in that spot and see if it gets it , could be a reflection or something but just a guess...

My app is showing me an internal error

It's showing me an internal error and the mower is already running on its normal schedule. Do I just wait?

x430 initial setup - comments/questions

Did the initial setup today on an X430 - mostly to test the base location and if I needed the antenna.

Several critiques below...but even with those...it's a pretty cool machine and I can't wait until it is fully operational.

I expected / intended to try to go ahead and use the antenna due to all of the recent issues with NRTK acting weird. What I don't really understand is that the impression that I get from the app is the antenna and the unit pretty much need to see the same satellites. What is the point of the antenna if that is the case? I was hoping to allow the antenna to do the heavy lifting on GPS connection and tuck the unit under the deck a little more. (this is going to get one of those "we recommend putting the antenna and unit in the middle of your yard" replies).

After a few attempts, I was able to find a setup somewhat at the edge of the corner of the deck (about 4 feet high overhang). The antenna is about 15-20 feet away on the side of the deck. All in all the signal is 'good' not quite 'excellent' based on that analysis...but seems to work fine.

The remote-control setup for mapping (two toggles) seemed a lot more difficult than the one toggle approach used when manual mowing. Why not just use the one toggle for mapping?

Mowing the boundary of each zone 3 times seems excessive. Two seems like it would have been more than enough...and why not alternate the direction on the second pass?

The mowing pattern is interesting - I assume there is some reason why it is better than going down and back like humans do - but the overlap seems excessive...and makes a much less attractive pattern.

Is it better to set up a light post and/or trees as bio-islands or just let the unit see them and adjust. I have a few decent sized trees and 1 small light post and the time that it spends going around them (3 times each) seems excessive...especially when the mowing pattern also brings it back to well inside that area that was 'boundary' mowed around them. I wonder if not using the bio-island would be better (for trees and light posts).

Path to home route is funny - it just drives across the area that was mowed like it has no appreciation for the pattern work that it just did. :) This also happened going to an un-mowed area within one zone...which seemed odd. Why not just navigate to that area using boundaries - to not disturb the lines? It's a robot..it won't complain about the extra distance.

Navigating to a new zone

I’m wanting to navigate my mower to mow behind my fence. I’m going to set up a specific zone for it, but how do I get it to navigate there a specific way, without cutting (under the correct fence). Attached is a picture for reference of the yard.

Delivery issues - Don’t buy from Segway

I ordered a mower on the 5th, supposedly shipped on the 10th and since 13th it’s lost. I contacted them

With slow reply and for the last 4 days no reply. Today they came back admitting they lost the mower and give me a “compensation” of 20€ for a 2000€$ mower and send a new one. I don’t care about the compensation but if it already starts like this how are they reacting when there are warranty claims? Don’t buy from them directly. Just BS

X430 worked perfect till up

I’ve had the X430 for about a month now with the mow gate. It has worked absolutely flawless and after the update last night, it couldn’t find the gate to get through. I re-mapped it and still will not come through the gate unless I manually do it.

Still missing a few spots

Another now. Still missing a few spots and they seem consistent. I just think the way it counts percent complete causes it to give up sober than it needs to but just a guess.

X-430, New Owner, GPS Comments

Many thanks for all the information posted here! I'm have been reading through all the x430 posts this this evening, and they have been helpful! I just bought the X430 yesterday, and so far, I'm making good progress, not quite there yet, but learning a lot, and was able to mow two test zones.

I'm learning how critical base/charger placement is with respect to GPS, NRTK, reception around the yard and house. I was hoping to place the charger under the deck, absolutely no NRTK, and only fair RTK with the included antenna. Moved it to the fence down the hill, and experimented with NRTK and RTK, better but not good enough for the mower to leave the garage and map. Out of desperation, I moved it to the front yard where reception is better. So now I am in a learning mode about the RTK antenna and the optional range extender antenna that can be placed on the roof, in clear sight of the sky.

The optional antenna can be purchased with a stand alone power supply so the antenna can be placed away from the charger.

Is anyone here using that optional antenna? Thanks

X430 Cutting Height

Have been using the X430 for a few weeks now and all of a sudden it started cutting at a really low height. Had it set to 101cm in the app but it's cutting like its on the 19cm setting. It looks like there's a yellow string attached to a little motor on the body of the mower and then tied to a spot on the center of the mower deck. My guess is there's a clip on the end of that yellow string that popped off. Anyone else with a x430/50 see how that yellow string is attached? Working with support but curious how it is supposed to look so I can maybe jerry-rig something until I can get it repaired.

Delivery situation for i2 Lidar series

Hi,

anyone who has received his i2 Lidar model in Europe in time recently? After one week my order still hasn't been dispatched. Wondering if they are out of stock or if there are any logistics problems.

Number 1 issue after 13 days of use.

My number 1 issue is the logic that is driving the machine.

Today I timed it in my front yard. For reference in the picture, this is the area with the two trees between the driveway and the fence line.

The mower took approximately 1 hour to complete this with over 35 minutes just sitting in various spots of the yard thinking (picture 2). This is not a complicated yard and it is either mowed east to west or north to south.

I sure hope they can fix this someday or they will try to pull my logs and see what it is thinking.

Connection issues

Has anyone else been having connectivity issues with the 4G recently. I noticed my mower has started randomly disconnecting from 4G causing weird mowing progress issues in the app. Also annoying as can't I control it remotely when not within range of bluetooth to start a manual mow. The app shows erratic mow patterns or incomplete mowed areas at 100% progress but the actual mow patterns from the mower are clean and the section was fully mowed without skipping areas. I tried enabling the interference reduction option but no change. I tried power cycling which it will reconnect to 4G right away at first but eventually drops the signal again. At first it never had connection issues, seems to be happening a lot more now. It doesn't seem to be affecting the NRTK operation, the mower has been stable and not getting "lost" when mowing. Unlike what the app shows in the above picture the mower did hit the whole area without issues and it didn't track through the no-go zone as the app shows.

New update: I noticed there were two firmware updates installed right before the issue occurred, I restarted the mower and it has been good so far. My issue with the 4209 fault seems to have cleared after the reboot.

Update: Now the NRTK has been losing connection throwing fault 4209 requiring manual intervention every time. I can't clear from the app and hitting stop and resume on the mower eventually faults again. Currently I am unable to complete any mowing due to this issue now where before it was just an annoyance. (Fixed by restarting mower after firmware update)
