Exchanging out-of-state drivers license & getting NY plates, two questions
Hello,
I know I have to get a NY license and registration/plates, but I'd rather put this off for as long as I (to save money). Is this a mistake?
Also, how do you interpret this text from the DMV website:
"You must exchange your out-of-state driver license (from another U.S. state or territory, a federal district, or a Canadian province) within 30 days of becoming a resident of New York. If you live in New York State for 90 days this is considered "presumptive evidence" that you are a resident of New York State."
So does that mean I have to have it done after 120 days? Do I start counting from when I touched down in NY, or from when I started my lease (2 months' difference)?
Thank you!
Interim NYS License for Road test as accompanying parent.
My daughter has her road test tomorrow and I am accompanied her. I am waiting on my physical license to arrive because I lost my physical license. Can I use my interim license?
